Which broadband?

Hi,
Could anyone please recommend a broadband provider for my Windows XP computer? I would like it to:
a. be as cheap as possible.
b. be at least 2mb speed.
c. have wi-fi capability (I don't know if this criterion is relevant).
d. require monthly payment, but not to tie me in (say, for a year minimum).
e. be as bug- and hassle-free as possible.
If anyone could help me out, I'd be most grateful.
Best, Rods

some mobile phone contracts offer free broadband with it, for example talk talk and orange,
it will be hard to find a company that do it without a 12mth contract. best thing to do is use google and search for broadband compairision. that will show you the best current offers avaiable in your area.0 -

Check this site;https://www.adslguide.org.uk.
Very helpful.
Personally I think you pay for what you get.Cheep broadband can mean unreliability and poor backup.I've heard AOL being called a "Virus" because it can be so difficult to remove.
Good luck!!0 -

you'll have to buy the wireless router yourself, or AOL give them away (with a tie in).
Careful with virgin though - not only has their service become worse than dial-up in the evenings (see all the postings at adslguide.org) but they have also put a £50.00 cancellation charge in their terms and conditions if you leave leave them in the first 12 months0 -

Just pointing out that you don't need to infect your PC with any ISP's software! What software that you put on your PC is nothing to do with your ISP.
