End Vodafone Contract

Hi all

Im asking on behalf of a friend (no really)

she is on a vodafone contract that ends in November and it is £30 a month she has asked them if they can reduce due to the cost and the fact she dont go over the allowance it but they wont!

they have told her that she cant reduce her contract until she has forfilled the contract period! she was not told this when she first signed up for the contract!

any help is welcome :money:

Unfortunately all voda contracts since I think Summer 09 don't allow downgrading.

While she may feel she is over paying she did agree to pay £x a month for x months at the time, plus if she got a free phone the costs usually reflect the subsidy for the phone so if they let her reduce her bill they would lose out.

And unless she was told she could reduce it and now can't it dosn't matter if no one said she couldn't.

If i took a car on finance then stopped driving it would the finance company let me play less?

cheers for the reply just trying to help her out as much as i can

just from what i have seen mobile phone campanys are really money grabbing gits!

what about the fact that she is finding the cost abit much? shes lost her job so has cut back on everything

Email them and appeal to their better nature, they may do something for her.

I know they are strict though, my nan who lives in France fell ill, i went out for 6 months to help her, spoke to voda and emailed and they refused to even reduce the bill by £5 a month

ok i know she has sent them a message on the email thing when she logs in online!


mate that bad these companys need to take a walk in the real world!!!

Was she told everything else written in the contract she signed? Does she ever read what she is signing for?
If a contract can be easily changed at any time, what's the point in making them for different terms: 36 months, 24 months, 18 months, 12 months?
Also, there are 1-month rolling contracts.

It's not a rocket science, just a common sense.

Can you please substantiate your claim?!?

If used correctly, mobile contracts can be incredibly cheap, as long as you know what you're signing up for. If you don't understand what's involved and sign up to something unsuitable, then more fool you.

Hi, what phone has she got, if it is a decent phone how about selling it are using the money to pay off or subsidise the contract?
