Missing a flight

Hi Everyone.

First time post ;)

I have a booking for 3 people, from UK to Saudi. We are already in Saudi atm but one of the passengers cant travel on the date booked (she is staying here for longer)

When I booked the flight with Air France it was clear that I cant change the flight etc.

I was wondering if I have a leg to stand on and ask a refund on the taxes that we have paid (less their £15 refund admind fee), or does no refund no changes mean exactly that?

If they refuse giving a refund can I then ask if I can use her luggage allowance? At the end of the day I have paid for a seat.

Thanks in advance :)

I think each airline has their own policy for refunding taxes/charges. Some do it, some do it for a fee and some don't do it at all. Contact AF and ask - you have nothing to lose.

As for the baggage allowance, if the person isn't travelling then there is no allowance so you won't be able to use it.

Iv tried calling AF in Saudi. I tried twice and both advisors were useless and rude. When I said hello to one of them, she replied with a casual "yeh"!
    May try AF in UK.

I copied this from AF's FAQ section on the UK website:

    Are taxes refundable?
You may request a refund of airport taxes if you did not use your ticket. This is possible even for non-refundable tickets. For more information, please contact your Air France ticket office or see the "Refunds" page in the "Contact us" section of our website.
Please note: Service fees (also known as “issuing fees”) are not refundable.

Can't seem to copy the link but if you go to https://www.airfrance.co.uk there's a small box on the top right corner of the screen that says 'Ask a question here'. I just typed in 'refund of taxes' and it came up with the answer.
