Free 0800/0808 calls from mobiles
Is anyone aware of any mobile that is actually free to call freefone numbers from (outside any inclusive minutes obviously) apart from some of Orange contract phones. How about Virgin for example ? thank for your help MSEs.
Do I want it? ......Do I need it? ......What would happen if I don't buy it??????

There are no others, just Orange.
Some networks allow calls to specific 0800 0808 numbers, ie the AA and other emergency type 08 numbers.0 -
Thanks Steve_XX. I was thinking along the line of using 1899/18866 access numbers (08081....) from mobiles. thanks anyway for your help.Do I want it? ......Do I need it? ......What would happen if I don't buy it??????0

When Virgin first started, calls to freefone numbers were free but that was withdrawn not long thereafter! I used them with an override service from First Telecom.
Orange PAYG also used to have free access to freefone numbers but that stopped as well. I also used them with First Telecom.
The only mobile provider giving free calls to freefone numbers is Orange, and only then on most (but not all) contract phones. I used them with First Telecom until learning about 18866 on this site.0
