Hi Angie :), me thinks he is actually referring to a "Notice of Correction" that Experian allow. Here is the link to it:)

Thanks Dojo, interesting link. I wonder if anyone has added one to their file? Or even if its worth doing? I can't see how it would make a difference in any way over the 6 years of having BR on file.

A Notice of Correction will only force any credit application to be reviewed manualy by a underwriter as oppose to comuterised credit scoring.

A Notice of Correction in most cases will increase the chances of refusal for a credit facility as most creditors automatically decline an application with a notice of correction attached.

I experienced this first hand back in 2005 and i was getting refused constantly. After removing the NOC i was being approved.

A so called "Notice of Clearence" though does NOT exist and the op has been given very bad advice if you ask me.

The best way to get a full current account is to get some new credit. I have recently been discharged in febuary and have managed to obtain a mobile contract and have opened a cash plus card with credit builder. I do have a current account with lloyds which was opened before BR and i have a co-op account as a backup. I also had and repaid 3 £100 payday loans with "the money shop" and they all report to the credit agencies.

If you get a cashplus card this will report to the credit refrence agencies and add green zeros to your account and in 12 months will go a long way to helping you upgrade to a full current account. Best of all there is no cedit check.

    Hope this is helpfull

This makes you think that bank/account managers should just stick to giving advice about accounts and other finances and not credit files. It would have been less confusing if he just told you to check your credit file.
