Creditors Calling ....

I'm not in favour of winding the callers up.
They are probably just as miserable as you, and are only trying to recover their employer's money.
On the other hand, I wouldn't engage in conversation.
Do you have a small tape recorder?
A lot of mobile phones do voice recording.
You could record a short message: "I am bankrupt, my number is xxx, contact the OR", perhaps repeated once.
Play that and put the phone down.0 -

It probably takes a while for the OR to contact all the creditors.:)
Banks you have live bank accounts with will be contacted within a few days.
Can take the OR up to 8 weeks to contact the rest, which is why I suggested writing your own letter might be an idea.Free/impartial debt advice: National Debtline | StepChange Debt Charity | Find your local CAB

Call your phone provider and ask them to change your number and then go x directory that is what we did, tell them you are receiving malicious calls from a ex partner with a withheld number. Give your new number to the OR happy daysIf you woke up this morning congratulations, you have another chance :j0

Can someone explain the difference between the OR and an IP- I'm sure I'll get used to it all soon!
Is it often the same person then?
Sounds like the advice on calls is either don't pick up the phone or do it, say it as it is, and then hang up!0 -

When a BR order is made, the OR is Receiver and Manager. If no meeting of creditors is called, they send notice out to creditors and the OR then becomes Trustee.
If there are assets of approx £10k or more, or something unsual, a meeting or creditors may be called with the aim of appointing an IP as Trustee0 -
With an IP being an Insolvency Practitioner - someone specialising in situations as described by JCS1.When I joined, I needed a name. The forum members gave one to me...I am INAN

At the end of the day it should be enough that you've gone BR, but it often seems not to be as I'm sure they have training to tell them to keep hassling cos some will pay up!
So just give them your BR Order number and tell them to check the IS website to confirm you are BR, then hang up.
Can I just check- is that the number on the top right of my BR order, after the name of the court. It says insolvency number .... of 2011- is that the same thing?0 -
That's the one, usually very short and sweet.

True to form - not a SINGLE call Monday or Tuesday. Well, today is Wednesday - will they start up again???? They usually seem to call Wednesday through to Sunday, so we'll see. My OR did say that he usually gets the reports out fairly quickly after the interview, which was 2 weeks ago tommorrow, so there is a chance that they have received the report, or they could just be doing the weird 'not calling on Monday or Tuesday' game!'Don't judge me 'till you have walked a mile in my shoes'0
