Mobile is for the smarter phones and mini for the not so smart phones.
N78 I imagine would be mobile version.
Easiest thing to do is visit m.opera.com using the default browser on the N78 and let it download the right one for that phone.

    PS Correction - http://www.opera.com/mobile/download/versions/
You can choose from there too - N78 - S60 phone?

    Nokia N78

    Device support

Based on testing performed by Opera Software, this device supports Opera Mini 6, Opera Mini 6, Opera Mobile 11 and Opera Mini 4.3.

Mini is smaller in size than the mobile version for one thing. On that basis you could conclude mini does less than mobile.

Why not try Opera Mobile. I've got it on my Nokia N8, and its excellent, much better than the browser already on it.

The main difference is Opera Mini's data goes via their servers as the processing engine and will pre-process web pages and removes any unsupported features like flash, essentially returning just plain HTML code for display by the mini browser. It will also compress image data so it utilizes less bandwidth and hence results in quicker loading times. This is good for mostly reading stuff off the net with little interaction support. Works with most Java enabled phones.

Opera mobile contains the core engine so will loads web pages as you do on desktops, essentially the full fat version. I think the Turbo mode switches to using Opera servers like in mini, but can't confirm this, as I don't use Opera Mobile. Not available for all devices and is a larger install overall.

I love Opera Mini, I've used it for years on all my mobiles and it works great and very quick. I recently tried their revamped Opera Mini 6 and it was very buggy on Android, so have stuck with Opera Mini 5 which has worked great.

    Good luck.
