I have received another Monument payment of PBP which is £336.60 but also a 2nd line of TAX PAID £67.32
Can anyone explain please. My total debt was £59,366 back in Dec 2006 this is when I took the bull by the horns and rang every creditor. I decided to do this off my own back and not enter a CVA. I am now down to a debt of £2644 and this will be clear in 2014.0 -
Presumably this is the interest they owed from the previous payment and this 20% deduction is for the tax man.0

If you are a non taxpayer, contact HMRC for a refund.0

I've received a letter from Monument today, as Adminstrator of his estate (he died aged 40 in 2010). It's offering me an opportunity to contact them to investigate whether PBP (which it says he had) was missold to him. I have rung the number provided and registered to have it further investigated.
I know he had a Monument credit card, and he was using it up until his death, the solicitor sorted out outstanding debts/credits four years ago.
I know nothing about his card account, Monument say they sold him PBP with it, but I have no other information.0 -
Hi
I had received a letter from Monument regarding PBP. I have today received a final response stating there is no admission of liability and as a gesture of goodwill they will send me cheque for £507.09 which is made up of PBP charges, account rate interest, 8% statutory compensation, less Income tax at 20% for the period July 2002 - July 2008. Would I be able to make a claim pre 2002?0 -

Do you have any records for this period?
What did you complain about - the whole period or just a general complaint?Sam Vimes' Boots Theory of Socioeconomic Unfairness:
People are rich because they spend less money. A poor man buys $10 boots that last a season or two before he's walking in wet shoes and has to buy another pair. A rich man buys $50 boots that are made better and give him 10 years of dry feet. The poor man has spent $100 over those 10 years and still has wet feet.

I responded to a letter they had sent and it said I could register my complaint online, which i did. After entering my details an automated response was received to say the complaint had now been registered and that it would take (i think) approx 8 week but there was no facility to actually comment .0

i got a letter last week did not even know i had had the cover, really frustrated as had that card for years and seems like they have left it until the last minute to contact anyone about the mis-selling unlike other banks. I would never have taken the cover if asked as had cover elsewhere. filled in form had a further 2 conversations with them but they wont tell me any result and awaiting a letter which might take 8 weeks. just annoyed i paid for something i never asked for :-(0
