Landlords contact name and number

Hi there
I'm currently experiencing problems with a neighbour who smokes drugs and the smell is coming through to my house.
The police have been informed and they have made a visit round my neighboure who were told that if they get any reports again the house would be searched. I think my neighbour figured it was me who reported them because I got abuse through the walls and was treated to an hour or more of loud music.
Since then I have been on the Crimestoppers site and gave them a ton of info and realise it can take up to 4 weeks or more for something to be done about it.
I have also contacted the council who advised an appointment can be arranged so that they can come round to my house and check out the stink for themselves but still no joy.
So all I am after now is my neighbours landlord contact name and number just so that I can advise him what is going on under his roof and then after that its up to him to evict them or not. To get the information I need the cost is around £20 and was wondering if there is any way I can get it free at all?
Thanks in advance

Hi,
The housing board will be the best place to get advice on this one, so I'll move your post across.
Good luck

not sure on the legalities but in hindsight i'd say putting up with the smell (i presume you mean marijuana the least bad drug out there)? I know quite a few people who smoke this, i dont but i would be mightly annoyed a 'nosy neighbour' had reported me to police for smoking some weed.
Just food for thought, while we got your side i'd say they think you are being nosy and sticking you nose in where its not wanted. And now well dont like you and will try and make your life miserable... normally the process.
If they own it privately or mortgage it, they prob will get a caution at first so dont expect them to be turfed out cause they wont.0 -
if there's a strong smell coming through, you should have scope to complain about it, regardless of whether or not it's 'the least bad drug out there'. some people don't like it and i certainly wouldn't want the smell of my neighbours drug habit wafting around my house.
a word of advice though, if the smell is quite strong, it may be that they're growing it for personal use (or otherwise). an old friend of mine had a dealer living next door to him and the smell of weed through the walls was incredible. turned out the neighbour was growing it in the loft and in a couple of rooms upstairs, hence the smell.helpful tips
it's spelt d-e-f-i-n-i-t-e-l-y
there - 'in or at that place'
their - 'owned by them'
they're - 'they are'
it's bought not brought (i just bought my chicken a suit from that new shop for £6.34)0 -
The name and address of the owner will be listed with the Land Registry. Cost you £4 to download. However you may find the owner has not updated the LR with his address and it is listed as the property next to yours. If so, try googling his name, or write him a 'personal' letter at the address next door - but be aware the tenants might open it!
Was the property let via an agency? Do you know which one? Approach them.
There's actually little a landlord can do though. If the tenants have a fixed term contract, evicting them before it expires is very hard unless considerable rent arrears build up or illegal activity (proven! So back to the police) is taking place.
If the fixed term has expired, the landlord could give 2 months notice, but that costs him money. If they are otherwise good tenants, he may not care about a bit of weed smoking.0 -
The lodgers renting the 4 bed house next to my parents were growing weed in the roof too and wrecked the house making holes in the ceilings and all sorts apparently. My parents thought they were a lovely couple!
I would hate that smell lingering near my house- especially if someone was to come over or mistake me for a marijuana smoker when I'm at work!
I would find out who owns the property; you are completely right to report the smell.0
