My hubby is also willing to cook, clean, vacuum, do the washing etc

However he does insist that we need the full amount of washing powder and conditioner that the box/bottle says and tells me off for using less!! He also isn't convinced about the vinegar fabric conditioner either.
I do the cooking and he's quite happy to have all that done OS but then he's be quite happy if it came from a jar too!! The only complaint is that (a) I don't sit down enough in the evening and (b) I cook too many cakes now that we have the microwave sponge recipe!!
Edit: But he's also very impressed that I can make a whole meal out of "nothing"

Why does a woman work for years to change a man's habits, and then complain that he's not the man she married? ---Barbra Streisand
and...
A woman marries a man expecting he will change, but he doesn't.
A man marries a woman expecting that she won't change and she does.

What about the potato skins?
I'm really intrigued!
And I am currently in the process of educating my boyfriend in the ways of an OS kitchen. I think I got his attention when I mentioned making his own beer...Only when the last tree has died and the last river has been poisoned and the last fish has been caught will we realise that we cannot eat money.0 -
I love my OH, but he's not OS at all. I am opening his eyes up though.....
My biggest gripe is that he doesn't think - he didn't wrap up the last of the cheese and ham last night after nibbling when i wasn't in the kitchen. bang went todays lunch (for me) as it was all dried out and nasty
That can be hard especially as i make such an effort to be OS and keep bills down.
On the other hand he can be very sweet and loves my cooking and cooking is an extra pleasure when there is an appreciative audience...although i regularly have to resuce the shicken carcus from him!
I can't promise that all my replies will illicit this responser.mac, you are so wise and wonderful, that post was lovely and so insightful!

I'm not sure if TNG does his this way but I do this - Get the peelings, dry them off as much as poss with clean tea towel, put in bowl with a little olive oil and swish about to coat. Then spread on baking tray with sprinkling of sea salt and roast at about 200C ( Think this is about Gas 6) until crispy ( I like them to be a little bit burnt but that's up to you) - maybe 20 mins to 30 mins or so. ( And of course you are supposed to have the oven full with baking etc at the same time to save on fuel!;) ). They come out like thick crisps and depending on how thick the peelings are some are still a bit fluffy inside. They're very tasty and really moreish. ( I started making these as OH was on a night out at a local pub and they served them as part of the buffet and he said everyone there was remarking on them. Normal crisps are not as nice now! )C1aire wrote:What about the potato skins?0 -

The last thing most blokes want to do is take over, they just want to help on the fringes“Pleasure of love lasts but a moment, pain of love lasts a lifetime.”0
