What does it smell of? If it smells musty airing it rather than scrubbing it helps.. and using it makes the smell fade eventually.

If you know it is clean could you not just use a buggy liner and ignore any smell.. it is probably worse because you are aware of it than it actually is.

I'd go for the hosepipe treatment or, if you've got one, a jet wash that you'd use for cleaning patios.

Well, I emailed Maclaren and sent pictures of the buggy and on this particular model you cannot take the cover off  I've scrubbed it with scalding hot water, bleach, disinfectant and stardrops and it still pongs. I might give it another try as my neighbour gave me some Stardops with ammonia in. Failing that I'll have to skip it - arghhh!

    TY for all your ideas.

PS It apparently IS rocket science after all!! :j

can i ask what model it is hun? also have you tried neat detol the brown one?

Apparently its a Daytripper model which although can be washed the covers are not designed to come off completely

The bloody kitten peed on it and as we kittie lovers know there ain't no smell like cat pee! ARGHHHHH

I've scrubbed it with stardrops ammonia twice but there smell is still there!

It is fading though albeit slowly . . . .

Will try the dettol - tyvm

    Fabreeze?

With the wind like it here, I defy any smell to linger after a day outside.

Leave it in the sun and maybe uv rays will do their thing...

(at least my ideas are labour saving)

    dettol is poisonous to cats.

I'd lt it dry in an aired place .. it fades hugely on drying.

ammonia tends to encourage cats to pee there again as it is a 'wee smell' and they want to mask it with their own a it is there territory!
