Ok, I've been with this company called Fasthosts which have been hosting my website for the past year. A few weeks before I was due to renew my yearly payment I cancelled my card so they could not take another payment.
Now they tell me that I owe them another years payment as I did not notify them that I was not going to continue with their service. I phoned them up to ask why they were sending me letters saying that i owe them money and they said whether I want to renew or not I had no choice and will now have to continue with their service of hosting my website.
Do I have to pay because I did not tell them? They recKon I do because I have not told them that I do not want to continue.
Any help would/advice would be great, thanks.

If the agreement says you have to cancel in writing before renewal, then I would say yes, you owe them. Simply cancelling the card isn't sufficient to remove the liability.
If you had some evidence that you had attempted to notify them, it might be different.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the In My Home MoneySaving, Energy and Techie Stuff boards. It doesn't work like that, ... as it is a continuous payment agreement only Fasthosts can cancel the request for payment.
"credit card companies are honour-bound to pay continuous payment authorities to businesses who try and collect them."

Yes ... their T&C's which you agreed to state
"Fasthosts contracts will automatically renew on its anniversary date and continue for successive further 12 month periods
&
You are entitled to cancel the Services by submitting a cancellation request to our support team via the Fasthosts control panel no less than 7 days prior to the anniversary date of the contract term...
&
Charges due on a pre-pay basis (together with account set-up fees, where applicable), are non-refundable."0
