Vodafone Network/Voice quality

I have recently joined Vodafone for there Vodafone Family offer, however I feel that when I am making the call the voice quality is not good it sound a bit muted and not very clear compare to other like O2 or Virgin.

I am not sure why this should be the case as I use to think they offer the best coverage and have upto date network infrastructure.

Hi. I have not used my Vodafone contract for some time, so am not up-to-date on their latest issues.

A couple of things to try though:
    1. Check your signal strength. This should be indicated either at the top (for Nokia) of your screen or at the bottom, and may be as a percentage or as bars. Certainly for Nokia, anything over 3 bars should be perfect.

    2. Test the quality away from anything that may cause a disturbance. Try in the garden on a fine day or in another open space away from buildings, electricity pilons, aerials, etc.

    3. If you have a Nokia phone, there is a command you can enter into the phone that can enhance the quality of the sound on your calls. This actually employs a different audio codec to encode/decode the sound, thus may give better quality. You lose about 15% battery power, however if the quality is really unacceptable this may be a worthwile trade-off. You didn't say what phone you're using, but if it's a Nokia post back and I'll look it up..

    4. If this still does not solve the problem, hound vodafone about the poor quality, that you are unhappy with the service being provided. If they cannot do anything about it, or are unwilling to, then you may consider moving away. There are a number of threads on this board from other members who have had similar issues with their networks - their solutions, where available, may help.

    Cheers.

    Hussein.

Why is it such a remarkable coincidence that nearly all Simply-Fone supporters are on Vodafone? Or isn't it after all?

In other words, why put such effort into promoting 07744 callthroughs that they can't use on their own network?
  • sorry to hear of the problems you're having thanku1.

Have you tried your SIM in another handset? It's one check that can be done to see if there's a physical problem with either piece of hardware (either the handset or SIM card itself).

If you still have problems, I work for Vodafone and our online department can investigate this further for you, and if required transfer your details through to our technical voice resolutions team.

If you'd like us to investigate this for you, please go to https://www.vodafone.co.uk, selecting the 'contact us' option at the bottom of the screen. Leaving the short code FIT135 in the body of your email (e.g. at the start) will route you through to somebody who'll be able to help. I'd also recommend including the following details (e.g cut and paste the below with answers into the email field).

    - Time and date the problem started
    - Description of the problem
    - Does this happen with all networks
    - Does the problem occur on landlines and mobiles
    - Is the fault permanent or intermittent
    - The make and model of handset you're using
    - Location (including post code)
    - Alternative contact number

    why r u so cynical & touchy

& why cant people have more than one mobile provider for diff services/reasons/plans??

i got a gr8 contract with voda & many free mins & so i use [see my other posts] my voda free mins with _/url]
Mainly because you posted totally irrelevant spam on another thread, just as you are doing here

Why on earth would you use this service to call India at 6 pence a minute when it this would come out of inclusve minutes on other networks, as you have so often said yourself?

Why do all the fans of this company have a Vodafone contract?
