yes i am sure the other party will say they felt threatened or have some excuse, otherwise why else could they try to explain they left the scene
Feeling threatened is a justifiable reason to leave the scene.
However there is no excuse for not going to make reports or give details at a police station (if you aren't physically incapacitated).0 -
can anyone shed any light on this latast development please.
police were contacted for report by my sons legal team...no helpful information although they have a record they attended the scene.
sons legal team told him late last year there was very little chance of winning claim because of the witness the third party had.as far as he is aware his claim was dropped and he was classed as at fault.
out of the blue uk assist(who repaired car) have phoned son to say liability has been proven in sons favour and gave him name of solicitor to enage to get his excess back.
son has just rang his insurer to ask what is going on, they are going to investigate and phone him back but say their records show the third party was paid out and it has been put down as son being at fault.
new solicitor insists it is on insurance database as a non fault accident.
we are baffled to say the least0 -
Sounds like someone somewhere has got the wrong end of the stick. It is not unheard of for people to get different parties and their insurers muddled up (ultimately even those that work in insurance are human).
Given Drive Assist say that the TPI accepts liability and your insurance says they've accepted liability and paid out to the TPI I'd suggest calling Drive Assist to find out whats happened.0 -
it was uk assit care team that have contacted son and advised he engage another legal team.(uk assist gave him the number of the latest legal team) uk assist told him that liability is in his favour that third party has been proven at fault.
son has just come off the phone again to the legal team that want to persue the claim on sons behalf, they still insist it is on insurance database as non fault regarding son.son has explained to them what his insurers have told him today regarding the third party being paid out and son classed as at fault.0 -
What is their full name? Never heard of UK Assist and googling them brings up a management consultancy company.
Just wondering if they are one of these phony ambulance chasers who claim to have a db showing your in line for £3,000 etc for an accident/ fall etc and you just need to speak to one of their solicitors.0 -

UK Assistance. (Not phoney - connected to rbs)0 -
Agree if UK Assist = UK Assistance then it is a wing of RBS Insurance but there are plenty of other claims management company and ambulance chasers with similar names hence wanting to validate who exactly it is.0
