This normally means you've either already used the code or it's expired. Some people find that, if they try the following day, it's accepted ... worth a goWins since 2009 = £17,600MANY THANKS TO ALL OPS0 -
fizzyhelen wrote:How do you actually bank a code? Does this mean you can put it in your computer ready for when you need to do a shop??
Yes, banking codes means they're there for you to use for future shops.
I've copied this one of my previous posts :-
Do your shop as normal and then click on "check out". You can then process your shop, choosing your delivery date, inputting your code/s, choosing substitutions, etc. and then clicking on "proceed" at the bottom of the page.
Alternatively, if you wish to input a code/s, but don't want to finalise your shop at this point : click on "check out", choose your delivery date, go through the motions of inputting your code, etc., but DON'T press "proceed" at the bottom of the page. Thus you can bank any number of codes in this manner. You'll still have to choose a delivery date (which you can always alter later), but the code will be banked even though you choose not to proceed. If you later return to input more codes in this way, you'll see the ones already banked if you click onto the link to see your codes.
There are different codes for groceries, wine, electrical goods, etc. for tesco.com, but the majority posted on here are for groceries. Only one code can be used in any one shop and they will automatically be deducted, provided they are within the expiry date. Most of the £5 codes can only be used if you spend £50 or more on your next grocery shop and most of the £10 codes are only valid if you spend £75 or more on groceries. There are occasional £15 codes available, usually for a £50 shop.
Hope this is clear ... you'll soon get the hang of it

I am just registered- can you tell me when you receive the confirmation of the 1000 points please - is it by e mail, or is it when you place your first order?
Sorry for the many questions but if this is when you place your first order is there a code you need to use, and can you combine it with a money off code.
Thanks for your help

Is there an easy way to 'bank' Tesco codes without having to go through a whole dummy order?0

Surely a "whole dummy order" can be just one or two items, so not really an onerous task just to bank codes. You can then just leave the items in your basket without ever completing the order.

Exactly ... just order one item and bank the code. You can either delete the item later, or easier perhaps to go back and add to it later to complete and finalise your order. It's difficult to cover every single point when asked a question like this ... you really just have to play around and get used to the site.Wins since 2009 = £17,600MANY THANKS TO ALL OPS0
