Halifax transferred my isa into my web saver

My first experience with Halifax has been a little disappointing. I opened up a websaver plus a direct reward ISA account and sent off an ISA transfer request (barclays to halifax). Unfortunately Halifax have credited my ISA transfer funds in to my Web saver account and not in to the ISA as I requested. So I have, temporarily at least, lost the tax free status of my ISA money
I called the savings line yesterday and spoke with Angela, who was most helpful and confirmed that I put the correct account details down for the transfer and that it was their mistake. She has sent off an email (to the isa team i think), so that they can hopefully correct it. I'm told that it should be straightforward to rectify, but could take a week or two before the funds are put in the correct place. Is this the case?
Bit of a pain, but on the plus side I didnt have to wait to get through to someone on the phone... something i've not experienced with barclays before.

Silly error on their part.
If it was a non-ISA it would be quicker to correct.
Because it relates to tax free funds they will have a greater checking requirement to ensure that they don't upset HMRC.
Annoying, but it will get sorted.0 -
Don't they just forward the transfer form on to Barclays as this has the sort/acc numbers to transfer to and includes the signature etc, I mean how hard is it to copy what's written on the form rather than, well, however they managed to do it.0

Depends what's been written on the form, and also has the money come in via cheque or BACS?Don't they just forward the transfer form on to Barclays as this has the sort/acc numbers to transfer to and includes the signature etc, I mean how hard is it to copy what's written on the form rather than, well, however they managed to do it.
Manual processes give rise to increased risk of error and the bulk of an ISA transfer is non-automated.
Not a great mistaka to maka!0 -
The transfer was for the full sum of my previous years (I haven't subscribed to an isa this year) and also I chose to close my barclays isa on the form.
The funds were paid in to the websaver via cheque, which the online banking says will clear on the 20th.0
