Flights to Bangkok in July - book now or wait?

Hi everybody,

I am new here, so sorry if this type of question gets asked a lot, but I need some advice.

I would like to fly from London to Bangkok – outbound date the last week of July, inbound date around 14th September.
I have used lots of search engines, and have found the cheapest flight to be around £600 – with it costing around £1000 with a lot of the major airlines, like BA.
Because other airlines seem to have such high prices, would it be best for me to book the £600 flight now, or do you think it’s possible for the flight to go down in the next few weeks? Maybe I’ve been lucky in the past, but I got flights to Hong Kong for £400 last year and was hoping it would be around the same price. I realise the end of July is school holiday season though so this is probably causing the higher prices. Would airlines always include this period as a black-out period for special offers?
Thanks for your help, I really appreciate it.

You are travelling in the busiest week of the year and APD, airport departure tax, taken by our government went up again in November. Prices will continue to rise for those dates and you should book now. No one needs to discount the first week of the school holidays. It is sometimes cheaper, but not always, to look at Air Asia from Stansted to Kuala Lumpur and then a connecting flight but before you jump on a good fare, remember this is a low cost flight and you will pay extra for everything, luggage, food and entertainment. It wouldn't be my idea of fun for 12 hours but it obviously works for some people
  • Thanks for your reply - I had a feeling that would be the answer. I had already checked Air Asia and their prices aren't any better. I'll book it asap.
