Hi, this is the Daily Thread for Friday 15th April 2011. This is an “over the garden fence” type thread where we chat about everything Old Style and maybe a little bit more. It’s a great, inspiring and motivating thread we start each day to discuss what Old Style things we’re going to do today or what we’ve achieved already. Everyone’s welcome, please do come in, put your feet up (although check the fence hasn’t just been painted first!) and join us for an Old Style natter. The more the merrier!

As this is the Old Style Board, it would be appreciated if posts could include some Old Style content. Please be aware that many people may have small screens, or slow internet connections, so please don’t post large pictures, or clip art – links are preferred.

When you make a post, if you feel like giving it a title, that will help others that don’t have the time to read everything skim through the thread quickly but if not it's not a problem. Please do not start a new daily thread before you go to bed at night because this often leaves things confusing with two daily threads live at the same time. The idea is that a member would start each new daily thread after they get up in the morning.

Some people who chat here like to try to answer everyone. Don’t feel you have to though, a general “hi everyone, hope everyone’s well” type start does just as well.

Morning all - hope you all slept well. I have two wet beds today, but as it looks like the weather will be nice again I'm not worried. DS1 wasn't well last night - headache and high temp, so I'm not cross. Have been doing rather well on my redeoration for £100 for 7 rooms. Have done the main bathroom for £5 (scrap piece of carpet so the boys don't dribble!! Have done the hall - just needed a good scrub and a dejunk. Have to do our bedroom today as OH is coming back from his couple of days work. Spending the day scrubbing and cleaning then by the sounds of it. ho hum!
Me, OH, grown DS, (other DS left home) and Mum (coming up 80!). Considering foster parenting. Hints and tips on saving £ always well received. Xx

March 1st week £80 includes a new dog bed though £63 was food etc for the week.

No not just you two. I've been up since 0600 trying to finish off accounts. And yahoo. They are done and sent to client. I'm taking the rest of the day off :T I've just done 2 12hr+ days in a row after 3 years of only doing an hr or 2 a day and I am seriously kna****ed. But it felt good.

    Morning All,

Well done on getting all that work done, Cat! :)

Hope you do manage to get things sorted Bargainbird xxx

ESMF have fun with the cleaning, I hear ya, sister! I am demented with mine. :o

Julie good luck with the talk to DS.x

Plan for the day is more cleaning this morning, then crazy golf this afternoon. I also need to go and see if I can get Tix for the cup semi final on Sunday, family stand is £15 for adults, £5 for the kids, DS2 is desperate to go to a real match, so this would make a nice end to the holidays for him. OS wise the is a washing on, and I am going to attempt some coco brownies I saw on thriftlady's blog. I also need to update my own, I usually do it daily but I missed Wed and Thurs.

Have a good day everyone, hugs spoons and hi fives where required.

    Morning all
Hubby's been dropped at the station with his packup, WM is on, DW has been emptied, hubby has lost a button from his work trousers so I need to find a replacement. No running around for social services today as DD1 has borrowed a car from a friend, I gave DD2 a hand yesterday for a couple of hours yesterday as DGD3 has taken to screaming all day & all night & then yesterday evening went to a Jamie at home party, just to add to the 'bums on seats' glad I did as only 4 people turned up.
BB good luck with the peace talks, you know where I am if you want a rant.
    Flutterbye Hugs.
Was advised yesterday of a 'car crash waiting to happen' to a friend of a friend, it's horrible watching it happen.
I've also had an email from DS1, it seems he's off to Santiago, for ever? For a holiday? Who knows, I expect he'll update me soon, he certainly has the wanderlust, he was saying a while ago that there are only 6 countries he's never visited.
    Have a lovely day everyone.
    Hugs Hester

    Morning all
looks like it might brighten up here so am risking a load of towels on the washing line.
been very busy this week and haven't had chance to post. I took a half day on Wednesday, and it was all about the OS. Went to the farm shop to fill up my freezer, chicken and minced beef - good staples in this house, spent about 3 hours emptying my wardrobe, and have a pile of stuff bigger than me to take to a car boot sale, which we are hoping to do on Sunday.

We have MILs birthday on Sunday too, am planning an old fashioned "high tea" with dainty sandwiches, scones, fairy cakes etc, and will bake as much of it as time permits.

righto, better go to work.... after today only 4 more working days then 11 fabulous days off!

have a good day all x

    Morning Trooops

Rough night last night but DH's was even rougher so I have left him in bed. Brood have been a nightmare this morning, up since stupid o'clock and just making as much noise as humanly possible instead of playing quietly in their room.

This afternoon we are picking up the new car :T So we may be taking a drive :D

DH was meant to meant to be taking the 2 littlies to the allotment this morning while DC1 and I attempt to finally finish the littlies bedroom but I don't think that is going to happen.

I need to finish washing all the duvets, sleeping bags, fleeces etc from the trailer today.

Bargain Bird, will be thinking of you today.

Cat, well done on getting the work finished :T

Julie, hope the talk goes well. My first job I was earning £25 a week on the YTS scheme, that dates me :o. I had to give Mum £10 a week board, I spent £5ish on bus fares to work and the rest was mine to keep and do what I wanted with.

ESMF, hope DS1 feels better soon.

Jackie, do you have a link to your blog?
