Morning all.
I've not been doing well spending wise over the last week or so (I know it's not been a lot of money but it all adds up and I refuse to slip back into my old ways so am trying to make new debt busting ways!!!).
Brought my packed lunch to work with me. Coffee and tea already here (so should not have to pay for any!). Used my prepaid travelcard to get into work. Don't expect to buy anything today. Cupboards are stocked up at home and I don't plan to do any shopping til Saturday (will be the last big shop for the working month). Keeping my eye to the ground for dropped change and my ear to the ground for more work opportunities.Debt at worst: £33000 (Feb 2011). Present debt: £25610 (Apr 2012)

I have a few things to do today, baking etc, but the one thing that I just did will probably make the most difference.....
I have a Barclaycard with a small credit limit (£1000) and a rubbish interest rate (24.9%). Last week I cashed in a savings/insurance plan, which has given me £3700 to put towards paying off my debts.
My balance on Barclaycard was £443. I called them and said that I wanted to pay off the balance and close my account. I was then passed onto the closure department, who told me that
1) I 'might' recieve a letter in the next few days lowering my interest rate
2) I 'might' receive a letter in the next few days offering my a balance transfer at 0% for 18 months. As long as they will increase my credit limit I will jump at it!!
3) They have credited my account with £20 for the 'frustration caused by my interest rate being too high'!!!:rotfl:
Results!! Hope they do send those letters :jSave £12k in 2021: Jan £1834.40, Feb £1692.810 -
Afternoon all
My week's all over the place with the kids on hols, but mostly in a good way! They've disappeared for a bit with friends, so I find myself with a bit of time.
My list for today:- checked online banking
- checked for/done a couple of surveys
- lunch on leftovers
- dinner on leftovers too!
- finally managed to find some Asda value pasta - bought lots to keep us going for a while
- had to fill up with petrol, but combined that with pasta purchasing (along with other errands in the vicinity) to get cheapest fuel at Asda
It's not been too spendy a week for school hols - in fact, the grocery bill has been ever so slightly down on the usual! May be a bit less frugal next week, if the girls want to do a day trip, but will look for vouchers etc to use.
A busy weekend ahead here - hope you all have good weekends2011 wins: 2 day gym membership, film download, NETBOOK!Debt at LBM: [STRIKE][/STRIKE] [STRIKE]26/1/11 = £4733.26[/STRIKE] 11/6/11 = £3759.3840 -

Hi all
I'm not sure where this week has gone, I've tried hard but still feel as though I've failed
Banks checked
washing done and mostly line dried
Ironing (every last piece) all done
ironing all put away
checked emails (daily)
finish sorting photo albums and photos out - feeling really pleased with this as nearly up to date and have managed to finish an album for mum
still to do
make card for birthday party son is going to tomorrow - Done
check Lightspeed
list football cards on swapits (for little one) - in progress
put photos onto mums digital keyring (she was bought this for Christmas and unfortunately its still in the box) - in progress
finish library book
sort Avon stock and list ready to send to friends - really need to clear some of this and get some money in - things are feeling really tough at the minute (background: theres me (41) hubby (59) and LO (7), hubby was made redundant last year after 42 years with the same company, he found another job which he hates but plods on at, wages are rubbish but we get by, it just seems we have had a few big bills and lots of little dribs and drabs going out). Sorry for the essay, just helps getting it out as I'm trying to come of my anti-depressants and am finding some days harder than others.
Hope everyone has had or having a great Friday, hope to pop by this weekend but have swimming lessons first thing with LO, then he's at a party all afternoon and then we're off to visit mum so I'll wish you all a good weekend now
