Friday 15th April - What small DFW things will you do today??!

When we start out on the DFW trail we do loads of "big stuff" that makes quite a difference to our situation. These include having our lightbulb moment, cutting up the credit cards and cancelling Sky and the gym.
But once we have done the bigger stuff, we often feel that we are not making the same amount of progress, when in fact the small steps are helping us form good financial habits and helping us get closer everyday to staying in control and becoming debt free, or staying debt free :money:
Examples could be charging your phone up at work instead of at home to save your electricity, hanging washing out instead of using the tumble dryer or leaving your purse/wallet at home to avoid the risk of spending.
So be proud of those small steps, they really are important.
Morning peeps and hurrah for Friday! :j I'm so knackered this week I really need a couple of days R&R...

Morning All,
Yay!!! Friday! Where has the week gone???
Thanks to Determined for starting us off today! Butternut squash risotto sounds fab – can you post the recipe?
Today I have/will do:
• Meals from stores
• Snacks from stores
• Read paper online
• Will get a free paper to read on the train
• Renew my rail pass for a week
• Checked online banking
• Will transfer pennies from bank account to ISA
• Will have a LSD – off to the pub for a leaving do at lunchtime, but will only have a drink as I can’t justify £6 for lunch (want to be DF in about a year)
• Will start work when I arrive at work as there is loads to do
• Will re-start my food diary….put on 2lb’s, but I was suffering from a cold the week before last and couldn’t be bothered to cook and needed comfort food (chicken casserole, mash etc)
• Take meds to sort out hormones!
• Will cook myself dinner (chickpea and chorizo stew)
• Chilled night in tonight celebrating the weekend-ness
• Need to do a week’s meal plan tonight
Think that is about it – I am sure there will be things I have forgotten.
Have a fabby Friday

Hi all. Thanks for getting us started, DNMS
Well today is prettyand pretty
:(:( at the same time. I had lovely leaving drinks last night with work folk (no one let me pay for a drink!) and will be having lunch with my former boss today. And of course its Friday!
The bigthough is that OH leaves tomorrow night to go see his family abroad so its our last night together before I leave. Im going to be such a mess tonight and tomorrow.
Anywho, things to do today before likely crashing and burning tomorrow:- walk to work
- lunch with former boss (I'll find someplace cheap)
- buy food for meeting and keep receipt for expenses
- cook dinner tonight with OH
- MUST not forget to call contents insurance folk to cancel as I need to do it with OH
- buy work computer to carry when I go
- remember to bring things back from the office
Mortgage free by 30:eek:: £28,000/£100,000Debt free as of 1 October, 2010
Taking my frugal life on the road!0 -
Morning all - I think! Been up since 4.30am with a poorly pooch who has eaten somethhing yukky and has decided to share it from both ends (inside the house and outside):o
So I have been mopping and scrubbing intermittantly ever since - he seems fine in himself just runny bummed now.
Anyway, the list....- Today is payday - checked the bank and there's £40 less than I thought there might be - its the first installment of the student loan repayment this month (for teacher training) and my calculations of how much I'd get were obviously wrong:(
- Fiddle with tiny shopping list for the weekend
- Walk pooey dog
- Ooops - he's just been again - poor poopy pooch - had to dash off to clean up
- Do a load of washing
- Finish schoolwork for next week
- Relook at budget for the month
- Stick to diet
- All food from stores using things up in the fridge
