I think this might be better moved over to the DFW board? Well aint funny how its the little things in life that mean the most? Not where you live, the car you drive or the price tag on your clothes.
Theres no dollar sign on piece of mind
This Ive come to know...
So if you agree have a drink with me, raise your glasses for a toast :beer:0 -
Dumping the b/f will save you a chunk.;)0

Dont waste £150 on a moblie phone for starters, we are only spending £30 on each other at xmas, there is no need to spend stupid amounts of money.Work like you don't need money,Love like you've never been hurt,And dance like no one's watchingSave the cheerleader, save the world!0

but every year thats what we spend on each other. I get my student loan in Jan so could buy him it then but i suggested the sales before and he said that he wanted it for xmas!! tut

hi,
no offence but i think you need to learn to prioritise. though it is always nice to buy gifts for friends and family especially at christmas, it should not come before the essentials. (and by that i mean food and things you need to go to work etc.) I would refer you to the section of this website on budgetting.
hope it all works out for you.0 -
I say explain to you bf that you simply can't afford the present he wants and get him something cheaper. Alsom route through your wardrobe and find an outfit for xmas do. I'm wearing something I've worn before:eek:Comping, Clicking & Saving for Change0

But can you afford it?
The answer is no if your outgoings are more than whats coming in. You need to tell him you cant afford it and decide on a much smaller present budget if anything at all.“A budget is telling your money where to go instead of wondering where it went.” - Dave Ramsey0 -

What a lovely thoughtful and considerate boyfriend you have there.Work like you don't need money,Love like you've never been hurt,And dance like no one's watchingSave the cheerleader, save the world!0 -
I think you should not spend that amount on your boyfriend. If he wants it that badly, he can get it himself!
Outfit for work - borrow from a friend. I had a ball to go to last saturday and instead of spending +100 on a ballgown I borrowed one from my cousin.
For your friends 21st - why not make her a photo album of her growing up - it will last longer and bring back memories and budget a small amount for drinks.
If you dont have enough money - you have to make cutbacks.
Sorry if this sounds harsh!0 -
Im a bit concerned that your boyfriend is expecting you to spent that amount, and wants it for xmas (isnt prepared to wait a week or two). Have you explained your situation to him? If you have, then im sorry, he should be ashamed of himself!!!
With regards to friends 21st, i would go out and not drink and save something there, you dont have to spend loads to have a good night out!!!!
Also, do you really need to buy a new outfit to go out in, or would you have something you could re wear or adapt???0
