Refurbished Iphone 4 on 3

Hi,

My OH is getting an Iphone 4 and has spoken to Orange about upgrading. She's seen a better deal on 3 and is quite tempted but the Orange retentions guy said that Iphone's on 3 are refurbished models not brand new and that's how they are cheaper than Orange. Does anybody know if this is actually true?

I've bought two iphone 4's from three and they were both brand new phones - definately not refurbished.

Some salesman will say anything to get a sale!

Of course Orange will tell you that - they want you to stay and not leave with the hundreds of thousands of others who are deserting what has become a disgusting company with poor network and lousy CS.

And even if they were refurbs, they'd be Apple refurbs which are as good as new. Apple don't skimp.

i got an iphone 4 from 3 about 5 months ago now and it was most definetly brand new, but i have seen since that 3 did got through a stage of sending out refurbished units, but the most important bit about that was it did tell you on the website when ordering that you would be getting refurbished model, so if it does not say refurbished at point of ordering then you will get brandf new, and if you are ordering over phone or in store just ask before ordering to put your mind at ease

Three show refurbished phones as "Refreshed" on their website. It's in plain view where this applies, so if it doesn't say "Refreshed" next to the phone then it isn't refurbished and will be brand new. Sales people will say anything to get that bit extra commission.

Thank you for all your replies. Think she's going to go with 3, got a free PAYG Sim card recently to test the signal and seems ok in the places she uses it most.

i moved to three from orange and am really impressed. the 3g coverage is far better than orange.
the three app is usefull, it is very accurate for showing remaining text, call and data allowances.

the iPhone 4 that is £69 upfront from 3 is a refurbished phone - I've just ordered one. Apparently they are apple refurbs, so good as new, come with a year's warranty just to prove that they're good as new.

Even though 3 do these it may not be a refurb you've bought - when I was comparing networks I couldn't get orange anywhere near matching others on price even for brand new iPhones.

hiya where does it say that its refurbished on the three website the iphone for £69? i was looking at buying that and cant see it written anywhere x

They don't have any at the moment - Worth checking again in a few weeks - Although you can get a brand new one for around £90 from most mobile networks on a £35 per month contract.
