    Normally £8.99 - now £4.50.

I've just watched the Wright Stuff on Channel 5 and they did a feature on the best Xmas booze.

The wine expert was raving about this one and apparently you can't tell the difference between this and the best champagne.

I've just had a look on the Tesco website and it's a gold award winner too!

Thanks so much for that! I've just ordered 2 cases for £41.18!! :j :j using the eCoupon for £15.00 off orders over £50.00 from Tesco Voucher codes. Wow!!

Now just wait for the day before your delivery slot to come round.

They will reduce the quantity to one case and charge you £30.59 for 1 case and delivery! Double Wow!!

(They've just done this to me this morning!!)

Oh No! Have you contacted them about this? Surely they can't get away with that!

Seeing as everybody uses eCodes that weren't specifically sent to them, I guess they probably can get away with that!

Naturally I shall be refusing the delivery unless I get any sense out of Tossco CS who I'm currently in the hold queue for...

This morning's hold musac is Good King Wenceslas...

    Well,

I came of the phone none the wiser.

According to CS, my order has been desptached and there are two cases.

I don't believe this for a minute, as they wouldn't be charging me the price of 1 case + delivery if that were true!

Will just have to wait and see what Mr Tesco Vandriver is carrying tomorrow evening...

I love this stuff and have stocked up for Christmas, but...

...anyone who states you can't tell the difference between Cordoniu and the best champagne, has either never tasted great champers, or had drank too much Cordoniu at time of statement and was !!!!ed silly!

Would agree it is as good as 'bottom end' champers - Supermarket own brands, cheapest Moet/Lanson...

Rubbish. Advertising clearly works on you 100%. "This must be good as it's £100 a glass"

Otherwise, how would a panel of international wine experts pick it above £300 champagne IN A BLIND TEST OF SPARKLING WINE?

Champagne is the same stuff as Cava, sometimes produced using different grapes. Same production method, same processes and usually in the same massive quantities. The only differences between Champagne and Cava are

    a) that Cava isn't made in a small corner of France - it's made in a small corner of Spain

    and

    b) with Cava you don't pay 1% for the contents and 99% for the name.

Both have been produced for several hundred years.

I'd rather have 4-5 bottles of Cava than 1 bottle of cheap Moet or any other champagne anyday. Saves me from wondering why I've paid £5 - £50 or more for a couple of mouthfuls of fizzy grape juice.

I've drunk plenty of expensive champagne including Louis Roederer Cristal (now that really is completely over-hyped stuff) and Dom Perignon (- isn't Corporate Hostility great :D) and just don't know what the fuss is about. Like I said "This must be good as it's £100 a glass"...

I've cancelled mine anyway as one of the items were showing as cancelled!!! Last time I order from tesco wine anyhow ... spent ages picking etc thinking I had a good buy etc. Tried ringing CS but got fed up of waiting after ten minutes so I hung up and cancelled all of my tesco wine orders as it is not worth the hassle.

Nonsense! I love cava, and would happily buy a good cava over a poor champagne.

Actually go away and look at the results of double blind, randomised tastings, and you will see no one would state that a regular cava is as good as a good champagne. It really, really isn't.

Funnily enough, I've taken part in a blind tasting of cavas, champagnes and prossecco's (apparently I have the palate for it), and the difference between import cava and say Cristal or Krug is obvious. For a start, grape quality is marked, and that is before you come to lenght of process and lie down... It has nothing to do with "£100 a glass" syndrome...
