The time on your meter is radio controlled by the atomic clock at Rugby, it is not manually set up.

Radio teleswitches have never been controlled by an "atomic clock at Rugby". The MSF 60khz time signal transmission that used to be transmitted from Rugby has been transmitted by the Anthorn Radio Station in Cumbria since April 2007. See here

Radio teleswitches have always been controlled from the Droitwich 198 kHz transmitter. See here

Time is not remotely controlled. The only thing that is remotely controlled are teleswitched meters where the switching times are transmitted via the radio 4 AM transmitter.

Most meters operate on GMT, this is because whole elec is settled in half hourly periods and by not changing the clock it simplifies the process.

Your clock is on Greenwich mean Time as previously pointed out.

A more pertinent question would be, Why am I on an Economy 7 tariff and paying more for my day rate units?
