That's rather worrying, you would at least trust the manufacturer to be aware of their own product recall within the EU.

Reminds me of when the Maclaren Buggy had to be recalled from the USA because of the hazardous hinge mechanism which had caused fingertip amputation and laceration to children when the buggy was unfolded or opened. However this was deemed suitable for the UK although it was the exact same model.
  • OK I called Sainsburys store in Huddersfield, asked them to to and find this BBQ and tell me the model on the box, which is 12375, phew. Cant see any recalls for this. Hopefully ill be sizzling sausages without getting burnt on Friday.:j

Good to learn, just make sure you keep a keen eye on the gas rings and make sure they are fully lit.

These are out of stock on line but just picked one up from the largest Sainsbury's in my town. They had a stack of about 10 at the end of one of their homeware aisles.

    OH was chuffed!

    Thanks OP!

When using this BBQ, best results can be obtained by cooking food on a very low heat for a longer period of time. It simply just seems to cook better that way (for basic stuff like burgers and sausages etc)
  • Can anyone tell me if you got the free lava rocks? went to pick one up instore and didn't seem to be in there?

Made a 10 mile round trip to get one instore.
There is no lava rock included nor a rack to put them on. The front page of the instructions call it a 'lava stone gas bbq' but the only other reference to lava rock is to warn you against using it. There is no thermometer in the lid.
It's possible that the model instore is different to that online, but they are both sold as 'Landmann 2-burner gas bbqs' and are the same price.
    Returned mine for a refund.
Still waiting for sainsburys to respond to my complaint.
