Many thanks. Can anyone tell me where I can put the code in on the sainsbury checkout? TIA
Edit. Found it. The code goes in on the review payment page. It worked fine too.~ What goes around comes around ~0 -
Beware this product was recalled as potentially unsafe in March. If you search under the product's EAN 4000810123728 you will find the following statement:
"The product poses a risk of fire because the ignition and cross lighting do not occur smoothly and there are sections on the burner where there is no flame and unburned gas leaks out on to the ground. Accumulated unburned gas on the ground could catch fire or explode leading to injuries of the user of the appliance. The product does not comply with the Gas Appliances Directive and the relevant European standard EN 498."
Aslo if you search with the words ""landmann product recall" you'll see this is not the first time.0 -

Hi
The product that was recalled was the BBQ with a side burner. This was back in 2009 and the one from Sainsbury's is a completely different model - it has no side burner. There have been no recent recalls on a Landmann product."Sealed Pot Challenge 5" No 1614 :j0 -

Sorry but you are referring to the version with the side burner which was recalled on the 19th of September 2009 because "The product poses a risk of burns because the gas hose that feeds the side burner can, if assembled incorrectly, 'kink' up against the underside of the barbecue causing it to melt and allowing gas to escape which could ignite".
The one that Sainsbury's are currently selling is a diferent model which does not have a side burner, and this has recently been recalled on the 12th of March 2011 because: "The product poses a risk of fire because the ignition and cross lighting do not occur smoothly and there are sections on the burner where there is no flame and unburned gas leaks out on to the ground. Accumulated unburned gas on the ground could catch fire or explode leading to injuries of the user of the appliance. The product does not comply with the Gas Appliances Directive and the relevant European standard EN 498."
In effect both models have been recalled, the one you are referring to with the side burner from back in 2009, and the one that Sainsbury's are currently selling with no side burner which was recalled on the 12thof March 2011.0 -
That would have been a different batch to this one. Plus the recall was in SLOVENIA0

Can you be certain? It doesn't mention the recall was solely in Slovenia, it is only named as the notifying country. It was manufactured in Hungary and could have been distributed freely in the EU. If you check the EAN you'll notice plenty of 'independent stores' in the UK are still selling the exact same model - potentially unsafe as it may be. Stock dump anyone?0

I have called Sainsburys online as I have ordered one of these and am now worried. They are unsure of the model number and have sent an email through to the merchandising team, who will contact me with the model number etc etc. They have explained that if it does turn out to be the same model as the one that has been recalled they will send a courier to pick the item up free of charge. I will post on here the outcome when they call me. Fingers crossed it is a different model or batch. :beer:0

Please let us know, hopefully you have another batch.0
