Why should the weight be an issue? It's only plasterboard you're putting up. If there is artex there is an outside chance that there is a low level asbestos in it. Overboarding would be the easiest solution to this.Eat vegetables and fear no creditors, rather than eat duck and hide.0 -
Woodchip, steamer, steamer (worth every penny) and lots of hard work. Good luck. Be prepared to have to get a plasterer in there to skim over, as them walls are never good.Kind Regards

Remove the wood chips with a scraper then use the steamer.0

We had the same in our new place, spent half of last Sat with a steamer , that triangle scorer thing that someone else mentioned and got about half a wall done all morning, was a nightmare! Ended up paying two labourers £1200 to do it for us. Ours is a huge. 5 bed detached with 14 foot ceilings though.0
