I am looking at putting an offer in on a house. The owner bought ths house in 2005, the height of the housing market. Does anyone know if I can and where I can view online the web pages of the house for sale in 2005?
This would confirm the condition of the house from what the seller said it was like when he bought it.
thanks

Zoopla have a function where if the house has a small H next to it in red you can view the archived details from a previous sale but it's not guaranteed to be there.
Go on Zoopla and go to their sold prices section, enter the postcode and hopefully it'll be listed in there. If its not I dont think theres any other way of getting this information.0 -
And 2005 certainly wasn't peak prices in most areas I would add. You had at least another two years of rises after that before prices even started coming down0

thanks. i have found some info out about the condition of the sold house in 2005. the current owner says he has double glazed the whole house since he bought it in 2005. shame i couldn't confirm this. i will ask for receipts instead.0

Its only been on sale since Feb this year and the price hasn't fallen yet. It sold for £87,500 in 2005 and £34,000 in 2001. The owner says he has double glazed it all since his purchase in 2005. For other house on the street http://www.zoopla.co.uk/house-prices/south-yorkshire/maltby/rolleston-avenue/s66-8ln/?sold_price_types=all&sold_price_years=all&so=date&sd=desc
We are starting our offer at £78,000

Building Control Procedures
Until April 1 st 2002 , replacement windows and doors are not subject to building control or inspection by council appointed officers. The new regulations require all installations to meet improved insulation standards and a certificate must be issued by building control officers for every installation. As there are up to 1.2 million installations per year, it would be an impossible task for building control officers to check all installations. A new scheme has been iniated which allows the hard strectched officers to concentarte on new building work, whilst ensuring that installations comply with regulations.
Only know this because I've just sold a house and windows were installed for me by a friend who is a DG installer, so I paid the insurance indemnity.0 -

If you go to the FENSA website, you can put in the postcode and number of the house, and see if the double glazing was indeed done in 2005

thanks, yes all 9 windows and a door have been double glazed in 2005.
what do you think to the starting offer of £76,000?0 -
£76k or £78k ? Its getting lower
What position are you in?
Depends how desperate the vendor is I guess - noone can tell you what is right or wrong, just make sure your own house is in order and provide yourself with the best chance of getting a house at a decent price0 -
typeo, its 78,000.
