I didn't even realise an 8 year old was capable of getting pregnant

There is not a hard and fast rule for fertility. It's not something that gets switched on or off at a certain chronological age.
8 is at the extreme end of the scale but it does happen.
It's the same at the other end of life. Women have been known to start the menopause as early as 28.
Hmm well I don't think Ebico seem the type of people who would condone such things

I think you will find all true christians in this country would be against abortion (even in a rape scenario). However most show compassion and tolerance especially in genuinely bad scenarios.
Hmm well I don't think Ebico seem the type of people who would condone such things as their site says that they are very focused towards social and green issues.

I am certain that you are right that Ebico would not condone the terrible things that go on in other countries in the name of religion.
I was criticising organised religion as a whole and not Ebico in particular.

They do however employ their principles and have a bias towards low incomes. If I was inclined to do so (I'm not particularly) I could argue that this is unfair on people that work damn hard and have high incomes.

However it's a free country and we are all free to join or leave Ebico as we see fit.
We never get a choice about the business models of the companys that serve us. We only have to choice as to whether to give them our business or not.

I suspect that Ebico is better than other companies that are run for profit. For example I think they will have a better stewardship of the earths resources.

On the bias towards low incomes I am torn. This is because some people are on low incomes through no fault of their own. However many are on low incomes because they can't be bothered to get off their a***. People from other countries (from Asia and Poland) put our "benefit culture" to shame.

But really, honestly I think this has gone off topic too far.
If you want to discuss any issues further then please start a topic somewhere else and pm me and I will gladly discuss.

I was only intending to justify my statement of why I don't like religion and I think I have done that.

I like some of your points but don't really have time for a huge debate at the moment. Got lots of R&R'ing to do today :) But likewise, PM me if you do start one anyway.
