Hi All

I can recommend checking out https://www.ebico.co.uk for cheap gas & elec tarriffs. They ARE based on Christian principles - and are a non-profit organisation - but the service is actually administered by Scottish & Southern and you can get online billing etc etc.

I found the switching process very easy - they do it all for you - we have also offset our annual Co2 emissions (via their website) for something silly like £4.50.

On top of all this, when I checked on uSwitch I think our savings came out at apporx £250/year!!!

Hope this helps you save some pennies

If a company works out cheaper for one person, it may not be the best choice for another. Rather than just going to a company and signing up, have a read of Martins Time to Switch article, and check with a few comparison sites to see how the companies weigh up for your individual circumstances.

I just switched to Equigas. As I said, provided I don't get sermons arrive with my bills I'm not overly fussed it's run by nuns or whatnot.

    Blessed be :)

Don't worry zizu, you will find many helpful people here.
Don't be put off as there is loads of useful stuff to be gained here.

You are right that Ebico are great.
But not necessarily always the cheapest.
I have found my electricity is cheaper with British gas on one of their tarriffs, so they are not always the cheapest.
I have changed to Ebico for my gas to.

I am fairly anti-religion (because of the bad things that happen in the world like 8 year old girls being refused abortion by the catholics) but I'm sure their principles are good in this country.

    Rape or child abuse.
This happens in countries in south America and the Catholic church refuses to allow abortions.
Girls as young as 8 are forced to go full term which can be life threatening for a child that young.

In the Phillipines similarly women are refused contraception or abortion.
Some women (very poor and 5 children already) try to throw themselves down the stairs in order to cause a miscarriage.
Also they go for illegal abortions. Some of these involve massage from the outside which tries to rip the foetus from the womb lining from the exterior of the abdomen (this is quite painful).

These are some of the reasons that I am not keen on religion.

I was not trying to start an off-topic discussion.
Just justifiying why I'm not keen on religion.

I'm sure this is not related to the practices of Ebico and probably a company run by christians is probably more ethical than one run for profit reasons.

Agree'd re: religion but hey they are cheapest in our situation and I've not reveived any 'complimentary bible' or other 'teachings' yet. If it does come through the post we'll most likely ignore it and drop it straight in the recycling box. Or switch if we can find a cheap alternative!!

I didn't even realise an 8 year old was capable of getting pregnant msn_neutral.png Hmm well I don't think Ebico seem the type of people who would condone such things as their site says that they are very focused towards social and green issues. Doesn't quite seem to fit with that whole rape and abuse scene.
