Unpaid for laptop

Say what? It's not a credit agreement, they can't add anything to my credit report even if I didn't send it back.
I wouldn't think there is a lot they can do if I phone them and explain the situation, then tell them that I want them to pay the return shipping costs.. They can't really say no if they want the laptop back. I doubt taking me to small claims court would be worth the hassle.
The other option would be to keep it unopened for a month. Then use it and IF they do realise their mistake I could just pay for it... I guess..
They will send it to debt collection agency. You will be charged late fees, debt enforcement office fees everytime they try visit you.
If they then don't succeed, you will incur court costs then any costs incurred by them to enforce a CCJ.
This will not just spiral the debt, but ruin your credit rating and affect any future borrowing.
All because you thought you could in efffect steal from a computer company. Have your cake and eat it.
Did you order it online or offline?0 -
Well I just mean that if they are going to realise their mistake it will most likely be soon after shipping and then the chances of them finding out after will be a lot slimmer. So if I kept it unopened for a month, I would still have the option of sending it back.
Not true.
Unless they have an extended return policy, your statutory right to return is 7 days --- assuming your ordered online. If you didn't then you don't necessarily have the right to return.
You will also be liable for return costs!
After a month it would be deemed as "accepted" the goods.
Maybe you could just do the right thing and sort it out? It would be different if the tables was turned and they was trying to screw you out of money, wouldn't it?0 -
Would this pc be from Dell? i have ordered 3 pcs in past from Dell, money is taken from bank, then a few days later it will be returned, but you will find in a day or so they will take it again...happened each time with me buying from Dell.0

So if they charge on day 32 you will do what? They have 6 years in which they can bill you! Grow up!0 -
Yes it is from Dell. I'm just going to refuse to sign for the package and they will have to send it back. Just read through their terms and conditions and they can use "recovery" methods to get their property back/money owed at my cost.0

Last time I bought a laptop from Dell (last November) it was dispatched before the money left my account. But it did come out. I think it came out before the laptop was delivered - if not it was very soon after. I remember thinking I was getting a freebie, but it wasn't to be. Wasn't a problem though.0

Actually the right to cancel is within 7 days, not return within 7 days under the DSR. Also if it was done via mail, phone, not on the companies normal place of business etc then the DSR are still in effect.0
