Hi Is it just me or have other people had an increase to their virgin media bill this month. My package is xl tv l broadband and l phone. It was 41.24 last month and this month its 43.74. The rental on the phone appears to have gone up from 12.24 to 12.99 and the tv from 25.25 to 26 and the broadband from 25 to 26. No explanation given. I thought if you were on a contract they couldnt do this. Any advice would be appreciated. shrewdalx

Hi Custardy, I already knew about the VAT increase, but I am asking if anyone has had an increase in their April bill. I have not been informed of what this increase is and would like to know if any other virgin customers have had this increase and if they know what for. Thanks Shrewdalx0 -
mine has gone up £5, rang them and they told me that in t and c's they can increase price of services! so my package (which is the top package, have all services) that was £65 in july 2009 has gone up by nearly £20 over that time, now looking in to new providers.0

Being on a contract doesn't give you a fixed price for the duration of that contract. No free lunch, and no free laptop0

Had a similar situation - no information about price increases via email or letter despite sending other info this way. Phoned Virgin Media and cancelled, with no problem or hassle.0

Correct, all the contract does do is stop them making unreasonable increases, anything more than inflation would probably be deemed unreasonable. If it is unreasonable you can cancel with no penalty not stop the increase (unless they agree otherwise of course).
When out of contract you can of course leave at any time.0
