Abbey account now set up. Getting interest on starting balance. Old account transferred across no probs. internet access is good. Cards / cheques etc set up. really quick!

For my business this would be expensive as I pay in £2000 cash per month and a lot of cheques - I have a merchant service but people still like the options.

I use the A&L after leaving the HSBC after their massive price hike about 2 - 3 years ago and apart from some glitches at the start they have been good and their call centre is here in the UK!

I would never compare personal accounts to business accounts - they are often run as separate companies and there is no real comparison. The web service from AL Commercial is a bit weird but you can get used to it!

They are remarkably cheap and you can bank cash at any post office which is good for my local rural office as he appreciates the business as he is under threat of closure.
I would recommend that anyone using these accounts should support their local office as they may not be around for much longer.
