My ex-employer won't release my mobile number - do I have rights?

In your favour is that you would remain a Vodafone customer with a 2 year contract. That's your bargaining counter.0

If the company does go down you could always make a token offer to the insolvency administrator for the number. It'll be worth nothing to them, and if they can make 10 or 20 quid out it they may go for it?0

Hi heinov,
I’m sorry to see this hasn’t been resolved yet.
Did you email us as suggested by Simon? If so, let me know your email reference number (this will have been sent to you in an automated reply) and I’ll ensure this is looked into as soon as possible.
Kind regards,
Jenny

Hi Jenny,
I did go to the contact page as Simon suggested and filled out the online email form quoting his reference number WRT135 together with a link to this post.
I did not however receive an automated reply email from Vodafone as you suggest.
I also wrote to enterprisedisconnect and team03 for acc#238636965/1, so the case should be well documented.
I advised Vodafone at the time that my interim plan was to switch to the iPhone PAYG monthly package. I should think Vodafone can see from my usage data that all my business is international and therefore high margin.
Let me know how you get on please.
Kind regards,
Heino0 -
No, You transferred your private number at your own will. It therefore became property of the company you worked for and no longer actually belonged to you, so therefore you have no rights to it at all.0

Jenny, Simon?
Has there been any movement on the above?
Kind regards,

Hi Heinov,
I can help follow this up for you, it seems to have gone on for a while now.
As you don't have an email reference number, I will need you to forward the email onto me here and include WRT135 (FAO Heidi) in the subject. That way, it will come straight through to me and I can personally sort this out for you.
Many thanks,
Heidi

Dear Heidi,
Thanks for your message on MSE forum. This is now my 3rd attempt at sending through this contact page. The previous messages copied below:
Dear Sir,
Further to my emails below and the 2 calls to team03 I need to find out the following from Vodafone:
The reason I resigned from ***** as Commercial Director was the company’s inability to pay my salary. The matter is going to court.
However, my worry is a different one altogether; I’m concerned that the company will be put into administration at some point in the very near future and, since the outstanding Vodafone bills will remain unpaid due to lack of funds, I want to know what will happen to my mobile number?
I will need that number transferred to a PAYG account regardless of ****** consent since I had it for 10 years?
Please reply to ********.
Kind regards,

Dear Heidi,
Just FYI - this is the message that came up after I sent the above email via the contact page:
"Thanks for your email. We respond to all of the emails we receive and we'll try to come back to you within 24 hours."
Let's hope I'll get a proper confirmation auto-reply this time so that I can forward you the reference number.
