Scottish Power. How long to change internally?

Hi.When my 3yr fix with SP ended in Feb, I didnt get round to instructing them what I wanted to do , so it automatically changed into standard monthly DD pricing. I rang on 7th March and asked for it to be changed to Online saver 13 . Yes, they agreed.
I have just had a letter from them confirming this, and saying the new rates will be applied within the next 14 days.
I had been going to change to British Gas which was marginally cheaper for me, and the only thing that stopped me was that I knew changing companies would mean Id be left paying SP high standard rates for 6-8 weeks change time ,during freezing weather.
Now I find that the internal change at Scottish Power has already taken 5weeks and now up to another 2 !!!
This seems outrageous to me - have others experienced this? I presumed it would only take a few days.

    Hi ANGLICANPAT,

I can understand why this has annoyed you, hopefully I will be able to explain why the change has taken so long.

Online saver 13 being a fairly new tariff was not updated on our billing system when you called. As such the person you spoke to would have added you to a list to have the tariff applied when it was made avaiallbe, this should be backdated to the date you contacted us.

If you wish me to check that this has been applied correctly you can e-mail me at onlinecomplaints@scottishpower.com

    Kind Regards

An irritation to have the problem in the first place, but fair do's, Scottish Powers online rep Graeme has promptly got back to me to say that the OS 13 rate will now be backdated to when I applied on 7th March, and obligingly reset my DD to correlate with OS 13 charges rather than the ordinary monthly DD Premier rate.
    Thank you Graeme .

I've got the same problem with scottish power.
That's the email I got from from them on the 16/03:

    "Thank you for your email.

I confirm that your request to change your service package to Online Energy Saver 13 is in the process.

The request was already forwarded on 28th February 2011 and it will take 4 weeks to get updated in your account.

I apologise for any inconvenience this may have caused."

I was ok with waiting 4 weeks, but 10 weeks on they still haven't changed my service and the Online Energy Saver 13 has now been withdrawn. I am not impressed.:(

    Hi Ron2256 and dodders,

All the customers who requested the mvoe to OLE13 should now be moved on to the tariff, if you e-mail me your details to onlinecomplaints@scottishpower.com I will see whats holding this up and sort it out for you.
