Lifetime mobile contract

Hi all can anyone help? My dad took out a lifetime deal with O2 some year's ago which entitled him to a new mobile every 2 years and no bills unless he went over £15 worth of calls and texts. He rarely goes over his limit. They have been harassing him into changing this for some years now but so far he has held out although he no longer gets a new phone. They have recently told him They are putting him on a £10 per month deal and he is getting so fed up that he is tempted to give in. Can they legally do this? What is a lifetime deal?

As long as they give him 28 days notices they can change what they like. He can then either agree or end the contract.
All the network have these old type of acc's on their system and try to get rid of them every few years, they clog up the system with stacks of plans that can't be joined any more but which have to remain live as people are on them.0 -
