Is there a contract? HELP NEEDED!

Hi, I'm hoping someone will be able to reassure/advise me on this. Basically I went into Phones 4U today just to browse and take a look at what contract offers are available at the moment. I was immediately pounced on by a member of staff who sat me down and proceeded to take all my details. I twice tried to get up and leave as I had no intention of actually buying the phone today but they were so pushy about trying to sell me a contract. In the end I bargained with them a bit and accepted a deal that seemed alright, just to get out of the shop really. This might sound pathetic but i actually felt quite intimidated with two guys leaning over me. They printed out a copy of the contract and told me to sign it, when I looked over it the details were different to what they had implied so I said this and didn't sign it. They got quite nasty with me and joked that what i had thought was ridiculous. I was really angry and didn't want it anyway so I stood up, told them I didn't want it, grabbed by debit card and left the shop. The worry I have now is that there could still be a contract, they have all my details, bank details, everything on their computer except my signature. I just can't stop worrying about it, I will not be returning to a mobile phone shop any time soon, i'd rather take my time on the internet.

Thanks for taking the time to read this, if anyone can advise I'd be grateful. has anyone else had a similar experience at Phones 4U? Should I report it?

If you didn't sign, and didn't leave with any receipt or phone, there is no contract. It is illegal for them to put you on one without your consent.

I've bought several phones from P4u now, so far my experience has been quite OK; they are pushy but so am I, I ask for all sorts of things... still they managed to persuade me to take a 18 month rather than 12 month contract this time... must have been that lucrative cashback offer.
