Hi.
Im looking to get back to work. I've been able to live off of savings for a while now but I really want to get back out there. I feel kind of embarrassed about not working. Its been about a year.
Problem is that I suffer quite badly from nerves/anxiety.
I also think I may have depression, although have never been too a doctor about it.
Things like the first day at a new job, or a job interview would usually make most people a little bit nervous, whereas I'd be unable to sleep all night and would feel pyisically sick leading up to and during the interview.
However, I am willing to go through this because i'd like to be earning money and have a regualr job.
I want ideas for jobs for people like me.
Anxious, a little shy, and more importantly......quite thick! I feel as though my brain is wired wrong sometimes. Very simple instructions can confuse me. I think that im not at all 'technically minded'.
I had a job with a friends dad last summer and all i did all day was wack hugh rocks with a sledgehammer and I LOVED it.
Didn't have to think, and i felt like I was being paid to be at the gym!
Most jobs through agencies are telephone jobs which is my worst fear.
I dont speak all that clearly. People often ask me to repeat myself. I cant slow down my rate of speech. I'd be sacked within days if I had a phone job.
I'd love some ideas - I guess lots of people would suggest a cleaning job. Im not ruling anything out, but I'd rather not if Im honest.
(although I did recently apply to de-ice planes but didn't hear anything back
)
What other jobs would you look into in my position? I m not overly fussed about pay - I don't think people in my position can be! I only really have GCSE's (maths B, rest mainly C's)
regards. Hope to get some interesting ideas that i've not considered.

Why don't you seek help for your confidence, speech/communication, anxiety and depression related issues and improve your qualifications rather than restrict yourself to a narrow range of unskilled jobs that don't require any interaction with other people?0

i Wouldn't know who to go to for help with speaking clearer and confidence, besides, that issue only really stops me from having a telephone based job - Not to mention that im sure it would take a long time to get fix (assuming it was possible) and cost money, and I need to be earning money sooner rather than later, ideally....0 -

Farm work?
Fruit/veg picking (hard work but don't need lots of interaction with people).
Depends whereabouts you are, as there are regional variations in finding this kind of job as well.0 -

What about factory shift work, working on a production line?Should've = Should HAVE (not 'of')
Would've = Would HAVE (not 'of')
No, I am not perfect, but yes I do judge people on their use of basic English language. If you didn't know the above, then learn it! (If English is your second language, then you are forgiven!)0 -
Care home worker? Very few blokes do that, and those that do are treasured..................
....I'm smiling because I have no idea what's going on ...:)

Easiest job I ever had was putting tickets in envelopes for a company that sold concert tickets. You could safely turn your brain off for the day and chill out. I'd go back to it in a second if I could live off £6/hr0
