Oven cleaning is a successful business model, unfortunately most on here don't realise the market for it. It,s not about going into Mrs Smiths house because she cant be bothered to clean her oven it about the commercial side of it.

The customer base is anywhere their is commercial ovens, restaurants, bakeries, industrial sites, schools, hospitals etc all use their services, another market is the letting agents who use the service so the business is there and it's a busy enough market.

I can imagine however it will be hard work so are you ready to work long hours getting your hands very dirty?

Ovenclean are a big name in it so your not only buying a job you are buying their branding and everything that goes with it. it does of course come a price for the initial set up and of course the on going fees usually based on turnover. You will also find you will have to chip in for the advertising and promotions etc.
  • This one looks interesting...

    Its a Window Cleaning franchise.

    https://www.iconicwindowcleaning.co.uk/franchise

It says that they even provide the customer base.

I'm not sure how they provide a guaranteed customer base out of their area, so that would be worth drilling into. Also, if the charge to clean the windows of any property (including one you find yourself) is say £10, £2 of that immediately goes to the franchise. That's high. Finally, brand recognition - there are a few people in my area already cleaning windows, couldn't tell you what 'brand' any of them are, and I don't value a branded experience or branded stationery from my window cleaner, just clean the windows!

It's actually worse than that as it's 20% of turnover, not just income.
If you are querying your Council Tax band would you please state whether you are in England, Scotland or Wales

Would it be worth it if the average job price was £32 ?

Would I pay £32 when the other guy does it for £25 because he isn't giving £6.40 to someone else?

It's your choice entirely, just thought I'd flag it.

The only person I know who has made a success of a franchise is a mate who bought in and has a MacDonalds in a prime spot, did cost him 250k though.

The only ones that make real money out of franchising are the franchisers (rather than the franchisees) or those that have a large number of outlets but the capital investment required for these is astronomical.
    Thinking critically since 1996....
