just to echo what most people av said really drive by at different times, talk to neighbours etc or even the neighbours of neighbours (next door but one ) thdey could probably tell you what your potential new neighbours are like.
it does look a lovely house and seems a real bargain a lot cheaper than the 3 bed we are in process of buying but every areas different isn't it?
  • Found out a bit more, they have got nusiance neighbours, all i know is they are into drugs and have had police called around a few times but ' they are not as bad as they used to be '

    what would you do now?
Can i call the police and ask exactly how many times they get called ect?
  • also, the ones that own it have emergrated. sorry about spelling!
  • I doubt the police would divulge any information, however, if you could maybe get in touch with the community policeman who is responsible for the area amd sit down for a chat with him, he may be helpful.

Are the troublesome neighbours renting their house or do they own it? If they rent it, you stand a chance of them getting kicked out, not so if they own it.

I am also looking at a house that has mysteriously disappeared from Zoopla sold prices, Nethouseprices etc. I didn't know that you could have the prices removed?

OP, I thought that issues like this were considered non-disclosure? So if the vendors know of a specific problem they are obliged to tell you otherwise you can come after them later when the recurring issue becomes a problem for you??

Trouble is the thing that put me off is that it was sold three times in 4 years

Three previous owners found life there so bad that they sold up and moved on. Do you really want to be the next owners?

Find another house: this one is guaranteed to bring you untold misery
  • BitterandTwisted is 100% right. I'd never buy a house that had a selling history like that. In fact we found a house that we'd have considered offering on, until I saw that it'd been sold 5 times in 6 years on nethouseprices. It was the only house in the street that had been sold over that entire period (and 5 times as well!), it just seemed so dodgy that we never went back.
