I really like this house, perfect location, price, has added potential ECT, but I have a feeling there is something fishy going on with it as its not long been bought, also it was under offer for a very short time and then it was back again with the 10% deposit.
Please can I have some detective help with this and if anyone can give me some more info / advise on the house that would be fab.
Thanks

Seems pretty nice to me and a bit of a bargain.
Lovely big bathroom, living room looks a bit dark but nothing that a bit of paint wouldnt cure.
Perhaps its just something personal that has happened, arrange a veiwing and ask or ask the EA.make the most of it, we are only here for the weekend.
and we will never, ever return.0 -
Arrange a viewing, ask the EA for info, ask the owners at the viewing why they are selling, do drive-bys at different times of day to suss out the neighbourhood, knock on neighbours' doors and ask, google the address to see if any crimes etc come up, check the crime maps if your area is covered (don't know the address). Can't think of anything else I'm afraid as that's what I would do!
Circumstances change and sometimes people have to sell up again very quickly, it happens. But to be on the safe side, if you do want to purchase get a full survey done just in case there are problems lurking.0 -
We have already had a viewing.
Trouble is the thing that put me off is that it was sold three times in 4 years, but now a few months later these details have been wiped from nethouseprices and zoopla and only showing the last sale (the google maps prove this as its for sale then and that street view was from about 2 years ago), i cant understand it, i think maybe its the neighbours i asked them outright what the neighbours are like and said one side are lovely and other they never see.

Go and knock on other doors! Tell them you're potential new neighbours and ask the other neighbours what the place is like. They will give you their view and you'll get a feel for them too.
You can ask the EA why the last sale collapsed.
Our next door neighbours were up for sale within a year of buying. They spilt up. Sales also collapse a lot more than they did with people being unable to arrange mortgages.
There could be a perfectly reasonable explanation.Everything that is supposed to be in heaven is already here on earth.

Beware the weasel words...
They might not see them but they could flipping well hear them! Music blasting away in the middle of the night or them screaming at each other every evening."One thing that is different, and has changed here, is the self-absorption, not just greed. Everybody is in a hurry now and there is a 'the rules don't apply to me' sort of thing." - Bill Bryson0 -

Not sure about your thinking because as far as I know from looking at mine and lots of others up to now all the street views are from a couple of years ago because thats when they were all taken! Dont think they update the pictures using that car camera when property goes up for sale?? Anyone else now this because mine still shows as at least 2 years ago??
Definately drive by at different times and also look on rightmove etc to see if houses either side are rented out....perhaps they have noisy neighours?? NO offence to rented people just from previous experience xx0 -
I have done some dective work myself.
Maybe i didnt make myself clear.
The house showed on nethouseprices ect around a couple of months ago being sold 3 times in around 4 years. Now that has been taken off i can only think its been putting people off so the EA requested it to be removed, i was lucky to have seen it.
The couple that are trying to sell it now bought it in April 2010. They bought it from an agency that buys your house when you buy their brand new house. I zoomed into the street view to find this company and called them, the family that bought a brand new house and sold this house had only been living there for less that a year when they deceided to move, the EA did not know the reason. But obviosly they needed a quick sale.0 -
But have you looked on rightmove etc to check if either side is rented out?? This could be the reason for so many owners maybe if there are noisy or antisocial neighbours?? Does sound strange for a house to have sold so often really! good luck hope you find the answers x
Even if not rented could still be a neighbour issue and they are not likely to tell you if it is unless they have reported to police or noise abatement people then they have to tell you x0 -

Are there any small independent shops nearby? Maybe have a chat to the shopkeepers. They tend to know what goes on in the area.I must go, I have lives to ruin and hearts to breakMy attitude depends on my Latitude 49° 55' 0" N 6° 19' 60 W0
