I had a licence under under a head lease and earlier in the week the Landlord came in and changed the locks as those with the head lease had not been paying the rent.
I have now negotiated direct with the landlord and am back in the offices.
The problem is the Landlord was responsible for all bills, although I now understand that they did not pay them either, I am amazed we did not get the electricity, broadband etc. cut off.
I now need to arrange broadband. I have seen a bill to the Landlord from BT (unpaid) for about £200 per quarter for Broadband.
Can anyone recommend a firm I should go with for Broadband. I do not want a tie in of a say a year if possible as my tenancy is in a state of flux.
Should I stay with BT, will it make it easier from a settings perspective?
As you will see I do not know much about these matters. There are about 5 of us who need to use it in the office just for general day to day stuff like emails and browsing. Do not need anything amazingly fast.

You will need a working BT line before you can order broadband if it has been disconnected. This will require a connection fee and a 12m line rental contract. There arer a number of providers offering 30 day rolling contracts, but of course the costs are higher. No free lunch, and no free laptop0

I have my own BT phone lines in that will not be disconnected and the old landlords phone and broadband are still alive for now.
I am in the office now and the old broadband package was BT Business Total Broadband Option 2 for £164.94 + VAT per quarter.0 -
All the current BT Business deals are for 12 or 24m contracts-you pay a lot more for 12m only. If you can't take out a year's contract then you need to look at 30 day rolling contracts on a non-business basis.
Your old deal seems wildly overpriced for your needs, you were paying nearly £66 per month. A standard connection should be around £15 per month. No free lunch, and no free laptop0 -
The old deal was pants indeed.
I just signed up for £18 / month + VAT and 3 months free for a term 24 months (they said it is portable).0 -
If you tied up a contract with your business broadband, and if you are satisfied by their services why choose another ISP, right?0
