leaving virgin media

Ive just requested a disconnection from all of vigin services and been told that i need to give 30 days notice, which will take me 3 days into my next billin period. Virgin say they will charge me for a month and then repay me...

Why do i have to give 30 days notice?
if i cancel my direct debit and tell them to invoice me for the 3 additional days will that land me in hot water?

You have to give 30 days notice, same as any other provider,in order for the billing period as you are billed in advance & to allow the final bill to be created. And don't forget to return the TV box & Modem/router or you will be billed up to £250.
