Card not charged for purchase? Help as i'd like to give the money to charity

I purchased an iPad 2 and 'smart cover' from a large online retailer on 25th march and it was delivered on 28th March.
The order value was for £514
I have recevied and email "Invoice Receipt" and it says "PAID" and
"Following the despatch of the items shown below, we would like to confirm that we have now billed you via your nominated payment method."
I also ordered a cable from them on the 26th which arrived on the 29th and for that my card has been build.
Basically 18 days have now passed and I still haven't been charged.
I'd like to give the money to charity but I want to be sure that I still wont get charged. Does anybody on here have any idea when it would be safe for me to do so, or know if it is still possible for them to take the moneys from my card.
Thanks

6 years to be absolutely safe.
When did they charge you for the cable? It's still quite early days.0 -
You still owe the money and it can still be claimed by the supplier for several years.0

Hi
I would not give the money away, i had something like that happen to me, not as much money, and a few months later they took the money out of my account by which time i had forgotten about it and incured charges.
I think that i read on here that somebody had the money taken from there account about 2 years later.0 -
They can take payment any time within the first six months without notice and can still demand payment six years after the purchase date. Contact the company if you are concerned about it.0

What is that supposed to mean?
Anyway guys, thanks for the responses so far, and the mixed durations.
Has anyone who has had similar before still not been charged years later, or is it fait accomple that they will realise and take it at some time for sure.
Would it help, or at least stop me getting stung without warning if I called my bank and had the visa i used to pay reissued with a new number etc.
Don't get me wrong i don't mind waiting to give the money to charity.0 -

If you want to give money to charity, surely you would do that irrespective of whether you are going to be charged for the ipad?
I'm guessing you have other motivations ...Gone ... or have I?0 -
<hmm alterior motive?!> be careful op you certainly could look like your trying to scam someone. They can take the money anytime they want really. Best option for you is to ring them up and pay them over the phone. This way you will know exactly how much you have to give to charity0

No not at all! I give money to charity regularly but morally I don't feel right about being over £500 up on money I shouldn't have. This company is big enough and of an International scale and I know Charities that could do a lot with it so i'd rather they have it.0
