Hi all
Wonder if the great minds on here could help me out.
I am on orange PAYG and have never done anything else. I've realised I spend a fortune on texts (well, topping up to fund texts).
Can anyone recommend a PAYG package on orange that will allow me to stay on PAYG and not start a contract, or maybe a contract that is short term and not too demanding.
Thanks

You can get unlimited texts subject to fair use for £5 a month on Orange Payg on the Dolphin & Monkey plans only

If you have been topping up regularly in order to get free texts with your top-up, as billsavings says use the top up credit that you've already built up to buy £5 unlimited text bundles. You may need to switch to dolphin or monkey first - but this doesn't affect your current credit balance.
There is a similar way to save with calls. As rates are 20p per minute, if you make more than just 25 minutes worth of calls in a month, a £5 minute bundle, which lasts for a month, buys 100 minutes (any network calls) and if you go over 100 minutes, you only pay 5p per minute.
Again, this can use credit you've already built up. A data bundle also exists.
You can also save by topping up intelligently. Combine top-up rewards and buying bundles to your best advantage. If 300 texts per month is enough, then that's what a £10 top up gets you anyway on dolphin or monkey - no need to buy the £5 text bundle for that month. If you need more, top up £20 at once for 600 free texts or £30 at once for unlimited texts (it's 1000 on monkey) without buying the £5 bundle that month, and use the credit you've already paid to buy the £5 bundle for the next few months. Make sense? A £30 top up can keep you in unlimited texts for 7 months done right.0 -
and if you go over 100 minutes, you only pay 5p per minute.
Not according to this Stuart .
9. You will be charged at standard Orange Pay As You Go Service Plan rates for usage outside your Extra Allocation.

Well, I can confirm a 5p run-on rate (or at least just before Christmas when my wife last used a bundle). It does refer to the extra cost per minute as 4p/min for the daily bundle and 5p/min for the monthly bundle - and this run on rate being a feature of the bundle -

If they have changed this, they have not changed their website. Anyone able to confirm the 4p/min and 5p/min run on rates do still exist?0
