House price falls would be excellent for the economy

wow, you found a mistake of mine when i was quoting Demand.
does it make you feel better that you found it or do you still not understand that demand and price are two different things?
Now, now chucky.
I can't see where you typed "and don't forget the South West which is one of t'other regions RICS said had rising prices", but I see Graham pulled you up on it.
"sorry, I got that wrong" might have been a better response than "wow, you found a mistake of mine when i was quoting Demand."
Could you please explain to me (as I don't clearly understand) the difference between Hamish's often quoted statement "price is governed by supply and demand" and your "demand and price are two different things".30 Year Challenge : To be 30 years older. As I said, you win the internet.
So far, you've:
- denied you said something you clearly said
- accused others of changing what you said
- accused others of being very desperate to change what you said
- admitted you said it, so called other people the village idiot for picking up on your mistake you flatly denied you typed
- claimed you indeed did say it was a mistake, but only after you called others thick & desperate, and accused them of making things up.
- called others thick because you don't want to link to what you said
- changed your mind on what you said, and changed it to demand, which isn't anything to do with what you initially said
And now, were back full circle, with more insults about being thick, because after all of the above you finally admit it was a mistake, and are now trying desperately to suggest I can't read.
And before you start your "this wasn't anything to do with you, don't make it into the graham devon show". Remember last night? You started on me with it, in another insult? IN a completely seperate thread? I've only just found this thread. I asked last night what on earth you were on about, on my buyers declining thread, but all I got was "zzzzzzz" in response. I've now found the reference to what you were insulting me about, and it had sweet FA to do with me. So hear I am. No wonder i just got "zzzzz" in response to my question.
Wins the internet hands down that. And no. I'm not as clever as you, and no, I can't beat that. So yes, I'm probably a bit dense.0 -

Well you pull up someone for being ingracious and follow it up with a question you clearly know the answer to.
Clearly price and demand aren't the same thing.
I think everyone accepts demand influences price but clearly so does supply. Have you seen your (deliberate?) mistake yet?0 -

No, and I wasn't being ingracious, well I didn't mean to be anyway.
Maybe I haven't understood the meaning of chucky's statement. I can see that demand and price are two different things, as are supply and price. I suppose it can be said that supply + demand and price are two different things, but they are related.
Anyway, it was an honest question, but I probably didn't think about the precise meaning of chucky's statement.30 Year Challenge : To be 30 years older. Equity : Don't know, don't care much. Savings : That's asking for ridicule.0 -

it's brilliant that there are about 20 posts now just because i made a mistake and typed price instead of demand when it was demand that i actually quoted in the post.
It shows that there's been a steady trickle of better news coming through if the best the doom and gloom merchants can do is pick people up on typos.0 -

Oh this is too easy.
"Shows that theres been a steady trickle of better news".
What is that better news? That proportionally a larger percentage of surveyors report price falls?
No...so let's concentrate on demand...
Demand has risen in the south west. I believe this is what chucky has been going on about now, after his earlier mistake. Made quite a lot out of this line. We are afterall, still going on about it.
So, what's good about demand rising, when prices are falling? Even chucky says it's nothing exciting. But now you are here to tell us that we must somehow be looking for stuff as the news is steadily better.
Are you able to tell us whats good abour rising demand, and how that outweighs the overall picture of falling prices?0 -

That's some conclusion to come to.30 Year Challenge : To be 30 years older. Equity : Don't know, don't care much. Savings : That's asking for ridicule.0
