We saw an advert in our local paper in april and decided that we would contact them the company was kitchens uber 3 months later and after endless phone calls [thats if you dont get cut off] we are still waiting for the last door , even though the rest of the kitchen is not what we expected, today i found out that kitchen uber and millstone kitchens are the same people, same music when you are put on hold for that long its soul destroying, same voices same everything. Hi, thanks for your response. We didn't go with them in the end and now it sounds even more like the right decision. We had one of their salesmen come round and we just got a bad feeling. The pressure to agree there and then and pay deposit, the constant chatter of how good they were and how much better & cheaper than everyone else - just felt wrong.
I couldn't get past the old saying about being too good to be true.

So we decided against them thankfully.

Hope you get your problems sorted out.
  • Thank goodness for that, what I wrote was just a very very brief account of what we have suffered, when we do get the last door I am contacting trading standards to hopefully get their advert stopped in our local paper, as I know that there are lots of people in our area who have gone with this company, many thanks for your reply.

Same bother endless phone calls past to one person to the other and after been on the line for 18mins I went from third in the line to first spoke to the switch board then put through to A Different line and went fourth then down to first then the line went dead ! all emails sent are returned as Delivery Status Notification think that means No One at Work ?? Dont touch them is my advice:eek:
  • I would say you should not touch this company with a barge pole, I am a proffesional kitchen fitter and supplier and have come across this firm or its previous incarnations many times, allways with big problems for their customers like missing items, promises that any fitter will be able to fit the granite worktops they supply (they only supply blank pieces, un cut, tops like this need to be templated and prepared by a stonemason), damaged goods and poor quality / unfinished units. They have been taken to task many times but without any change in their business practises, it is high time someone (step forward Mr Lewis?) sorted them out once and for all!

My advice would be to use a local proffesional with good references we are usually much cheaper than even the DIY places as some of their fitting costs can be astronomic.
  • I odered a kitchen from them in February. Two months later I am still missing one door one carcass, pelets and cornice. I have now reported them to Manchester Trading Standards and threatebned legal action. They have not even bothered to respond to a threat of legal action so my thinking is that I am never likely to get a resoloution to my problems short of visiting, which I would if I had an address but they do not seem to have one. Can anyone advise where they are based? The company is a nightmare. Do not give them, your business.

    To anyone considering MILLSTONE KITCHENS.

This company appears to be connected to the 'kitchen conman' Vance Miller - google him.

He sells 1000s of kitchens a year so he must get some kitchens right. The kitchens are cheap! If everything arrives and they are professionally fitted you can get a bargain.

The main problem is that his kitchens are sourced in the far east, if any bits are missing and not in stock and the items are not on the next boat then you will have a minimum 3 month wait for the shipping. Its then possible they will not match, for example if there are missing kitchen doors, accessories etc. that are wood stained or painted its highly likely the finish shade will not be the same.

Many kitchen installations have problems, the internet is full of customers of Mr Miller who had problems and met bad or worse, abusive aftersales service.

You could be left on your own with a half fitted kitchen for months or until you decide to buy a replacement, best avoid anything with a VANCE MILLER connection, me thinks.
