I hope no-one minds me jumping on this old thread, but just to add my recent experience with this firm who are still operating and taking people's money. I wish I had read this beforehand!

Their website says Millstone Kitchens but the address is www.codotuk.com I ordered just one cabinet and was told in stock and delivery in 7 days. I was asked to pay by bank transfer, which I thought was odd, but imagined they avoid card fees this way so didn't argue.

The delivery didn't show up on the expected date, and the salesman claimed he had been trying to contact me. He eventually admitted they were not in stock and would take 'a few months'. He agreed to cancel the order and would send cheque for refund.

No cheque arrived, many phonecalls and promises made, eventually was told another cheque had been sent. Again nothing arrived. Now I am phoning several times a day, being messed around, passed from person to person, and told someone or other will call me back (they never do).

It's only now that I realise that paying by bank transfer is a BAD IDEA as I don't have the protection that card payments have, especially credit cards. There is no intermediary to raise the matter with. There is no possibility of a chargeback. I am completely in their hands, and will only get my money back if they decide to give it back. I will keep trying, going to send letters and getting nowhere by phone. The only grain of comfort I can take is that at least the amount of money is relatively small (around £200). Imagine how would feel if it had been the complete kitchen order (thousands).
  • What a farce..do not use this Company..we have recieved sub standard kitchen and when we complain we are put on hold for 40 mins at a time..no reply to emails..no call back as promised..no paperwork as requested..complete waste of time.
