My mum uses Delia's mincemeat recipe and just leaves the suet out - the mincemeat is still gorgeous!0

I have made my own mincemeat in the past using Atora veg suet instead of the traditional stuff - much easier on the hip IYKWIM.

Delia's recipe is fab.
This year I used Vodka (actuallu Absolut Citron as that was all I had) instead of brandy, and it was even better. It didn't tast of Vodka, it just gave it a lovely lift.0 -
I make Delia's mincemeat too but use less sugar.
I always make more than I think I need and use it for a version of bread and butter pudding, I make sandwiches with the mincemeat and then carry on with the recipe as normal0 -
I bought some and tarted it up with a good glug of brandy, the rind of a lemon and orange and half the juice from the lemon and orange.
I then made my own pastry. They taste lovely.0 -

I still have four jars of it and it looks fine. Just add extra brandy to the top of the jar every now and then.
