Tesco/Asda Pricechecker Thread - part 4

Anyone know any of the coded tannoy messages that Tesco uses
If so add them to the thead below.
eg
Would the plumber go to the basement - used to be used for a bombthreat without alerting / panicing customers unnecessarily - as they did not have a plumber and had no basement - whenever I heard this I used to run from the store
The one I hear all the time I enter the store is would so and so go to the Confidential Office ! Call it paranoia - but was wondering what it meant - thanks
in advance,
:eek:What is the confidential office ? :eek:Is it where everyone can exchange DTD tips ?:rotfl::rotfl:If you don’t speculate, you can’t accumulate. :beer:0 -
Sorry if anyone has already posted this - struggling to keep up with all the posts! Just a word of caution.
This afternoon I headed off to Mr T's as if on a mission - hadn't DTD'd for 2 days & was getting the shakes! On my list was Vanish Oxi Multi Stain Remover Powder 1.5kg £12/£4.00 DTD £16. I double checked the SS, plus Tesco & Asda Websites before I left. In the store I checked the SEL which also read £12. However at the till, it went through for £3!
That is an amazing price for the large 1.5kg tub, but not exactly what I was hoping to see - it completely threw me actually - it meant I didn't now have enough shopping to meet the DTD voucher amount. I ended up dashing back down the aisle to get a bottle of yellow label Wolf Blass Chardonnay (can always be relied upon in times of crisis!) - but my next DTD voucher will take a bashing now!
I don't know if this is store specific or national?0 -

My first experience was an ok one, though I was nervous!
Used my 1st DTD voucher today, £12.88....should have been more but my newbie shopping tactics needed honing! However, my shop today should be spot on! Searched for a checkout person under 25 and male, I know you shouldn't judge people but thought some student type young lad woldn't give a toss about the voucher! I was right, he didn't! My next voucher should be more on the £20 Mark so 'I'll search for another young lad then...ooooo-er!!
Thanks all for your help too!
Oooo-er indeed!! I just used my second voucher (£19.98), was quite nervous but shouldn't have worried. SA said I had the biggest one she had ever seen, and up until now she has only had 2 small ones. Didn't know what to say:rotfl:0 -

I don't do it, please don't judge me. I just wonder about this great promotion. Mr T is Happy for it, he's also happy for us (DTDers) because we send more people to his stores and he don't count money atm, he count numbers from the till and it's definitely growing.
...just the technical part is absolutely messed up.
please don't give the spammers new ideas to abuse the great offer
would you amend your post please?
I'd like it to last a bit more... and i'm sure others do too... thanks0 -

I asked if there was a problem, to which she replied we've been told not to accept these anymore as there's 'something going on' with them! 'Something going on', i replied 'what does that mean?'
She said i can't say too much, but we're not going to accept them anymore, we've been taking the signs down! I said but it says on the voucher it's valid until May 2011. When the supervisor arrived she took the voucher over to customer services and i was so scared that i nearly said i haven't got time for this, and was going to abandon my shopping and the voucher, but i braved it out!
When the supervisor returned she said we'll accept it this time, but we're not going to accept them anymore as it's ridiculous. She then went on to ask how i only spent £20ish and i got a £20 voucher back. I said because if i'd have done the shop in Asda it would have only cost £10 therefore Tesco's have doubled the difference! By this time there was a queue behind me and they were all staring at me and i wanted the ground to open up!
I don't know if there's any truth in it, but if i'm gonna be interrogated from now on i don't think my nerves can take itI'm just glad that she didn't ask my email address
Well done for standing your ground.
In the future you will have to do the same. You have people on the tills (trout bit@hes) who are not happy
They are employed to enforce the promotion not change it. If they had the power to change the rules then they would be ona very high management salary.
I have had this happen and inside I have to keep calm but If they start on me. I keep saying "I am so sorry for you to not receive training. It must make you feel really unimportant".
Do not give up. That's what they want
I am scared of not eating Tesco Finest. I love DTD.
You have us here for support to let of steam
Happy DTDing
Big kiss

The Self-scan tills seem to be like everything else with this offer. The rules vary from store to store. I have used several vouchers of up to £20 on the SS tills without problem. The SA has to check the vouchers and input codes but it's never caused hassle.
i did that when i had a giftcard and the sa still had to come to input it:)
id feel better going there than to a nomal till even if the sa has to come at least its not a supervisor,i get sooo nervous:o0 -
I am still awaiting 3 price checks entered friday at about 9pm :-(
I've had my shopping list ready and refuse to go to tesco without them, to my partners frustration, lol. I really want to stock up on the vanish oxi stuff.
I've noticed that the "time's" within the long string of numbers that must be entered are now in a 24h clock format, whereas a few weeks ack they seemed to be in a 12h format. not that interesting really, but goes to show how long I've been sitting here looking at the things waiting for my vouchers!!! lol.0 -
sir brainy please edit your post asap, pretty please
I think it may lead to more trouble then we already have... thanks
